Wow. About a month ago they said they were starting to shoot in January with no casting announcement and I just assumed they were gonna do a reboot type thing. Really glad they managed to pull this together.

Really great. I'd like to know how much of that cast is actually going to be regulars and not cameos though.
Haven't watched the original in a loooong time. Going to have to revisit soon.

July 31st can't come soon enough.
Do you guys expect this to be as good or better than the movie?
I feel there's potential for it to be better because quite a few of these actors have reached their comedic peaks and could take bigger roles now.
Especially Joe Lo Trulio and Ken Marino.
I'd watch if it was just the two of them.

I'm honestly trying to keep expectations in check.

Tons of potential here but idk how they'll handle the time lapse and all that. I have mad faith but remember what happened with Arrested?

um there is no time lapse? its a prequel that takes place at the beginning of the same summer.
Hilarious idea that is either going to work really great or really terribly. Don't see any middle ground there.

Really? I thought it was 10 years later... probably should've read some of the words under and around those pictures

 yeah that's the joke, that they are actually waaay older but pretending to still be in their teens/20's
that's why they're all dressed in the same outfits

I rewatched the movie a month or two ago in anticipation of this, held up great.

If anything, I think it might even play better now that it did when it came out. People are a lot more used to weird, out there/"alternative" comedy these days, I think that's one of the things that really killed the theatrical release. I went to it, because I was a nerdy kid who loved The State and read about the flick in Rolling Stone before it came out, and me and my friend were the only two people in the theater the night after it opened. I don't think it was even here a week. Granted, I live in a town of 30,000 people, but it didn't really do well anywhere else either. If that same movie was to come out today I think it would do a lot better, even with the cast only being as well known as they were back then.

Didn't it also come out the day after 9/11, probably the worst possible time to watch something like that?

It was a fairly limited release. Expectations were never too high.

Looks even better than I hoped.
Still can't believe they were able to get that cast back together.

Just watched the first episode, really solid. They did a great job staying true to the style of humor as the movie.
Rudd stealing the show like crazy though, laughed real hard at "Don't make fun of the guy who dresses my mother".

I just watched 4 eps so I'm assuming they did the typical netflix thing and dropped them all once.
