Why wouldn't they drop them all at once smh?

Early reviews seem good. Gonna watch some tomorrow.

They did release them all.
I'm through 6 out of the 8 episodes. Shit is fantastic, arguably even better than the movie.
Lots of great cameos throughout.
And have to say again that Rudd fucking murders every scene in this. "I'm just a guy who farts in your face and makes you smile".

Yeah, they all dropped at midnight on Friday. I watched them all at once. It's amazing. Most likely better than the movie, adding some newer blood to the dynamic. The whole premise of the older members playing even younger versions of themselves is a hilarious idea.

Sorry I meant it was a dumb question to even ask if they wouldn't drop at all once.

Just finished. I thought it was fucking hilarious, and yet at the same time not quite as good of an overall story as the movie. The narrative was tight at first, but kind of fell apart in the last two (or possibly even three) episodes, to the point where even the script acknowledges it. I still loved it, but the first half is a lot better than the second.

Paul Rudd is by far the MVP of this shit, not sure who else other than Showalter is even a close second.

Fat Showalter is distracting me a bit, but so far it's pretty much the shit. I never really like over the top fell in love with/obsessed over WHAS until watching it for lke the 10-20th time, so I'm excited to re-watch these a bunch, cuz u never really catch all the good shit first time around. Rudd is remarkable, but Meloni been stealin the show for me so far. Really love what they did with the back story n shit though and REALLY love bringing back all the kids from the movie - Godspell girl singing twinkle lil star, the science geeks being punk rockers (and still rockin the rainbow suspenders), lots of awesome little cameos and nods to the og movie. Really bummed it's only 8 eps tho. Im like on 5 and not ready to say goodbye yet :(

biggest laugh was the beekeeper 'ya'll know i love me some smith, and we're just having fun' in ep2
really wanted to watch the movie again before starting these cause i haven't seen it in forever, but oh wells, probably run through these, do the movie, then do these again. shit's excellent

They're doing another one set 10 years later. Fuck yeah

Netflix is keeping a promise made one macraméd summer in Lindsay, McKinley, and Susie’s youth by reuniting the Camp Firewood gang for a Wet Hot American Summer sequel. The streaming company has just issued a press release announcing the 8-episode series, which will take place ten years after the film, and not ten years after the First Day Of Camp, a distinction whose importance will undoubtedly be made clear soon enough. David Wain is set to direct the series, as well as co-write it with Michael Showalter. No cast members have been announced yet, but we’re pretty sure Paul Rudd, Amy Poehler, Michael Ian Black, and Bradley Cooper can play twentysomethings. Ten years later would set the show in 1991, so look forward to internet and grunge jokes (but the good kind).

Wet Hot American Summer: Ten Years Later will be released sometime in 2017, so you’d better make it your beeswax to be there.

Ten Years Later has its moments but overall I was pretty disappointed with it. They should have stayed in the original time period, trying to make all these characters funny again in the future under new circumstances didn't work overall. This season really felt reminded me of the netflix season of Arrested Development, watchable because its more of something that was great at one time.

yea I got through the first few eps and they're decent enough but it feels strained. I think I liked First Day Of Camp more

I'd watch a whole show of Wain as Yarron though

Word, might be the only Wain character I've ever enjoyed. Big fan of him as a writer/director but for some reason when he casts himself it comes off as an exercise in vanity to me.
Actually he was pretty great as Rabbi McJewjew in Children's Hospital too.

I think the reason first day of camp was so much better is because they had been writing and developing different film and tv versions of it for a decade, so that material was well-refined by that point and setting it in the same time period made it easier to make the jokes work. The funniest part of 10 years later was seeing Rudd and Pine looking like extras from Singles.
