A Deadly Adoption (Will Ferrell/K. Wiig Lifetime Movie)

Post by drizzle »

very down for this, it was written by the same dude who did Casa De Mi Padre and Spoils of Babylon

I think I might be the only person in the world who actually watched Spoils of Babylon, but it was dope.

Yeah I'm really pumped for this.
Casa de mi Padre was good but could have been so much better.

It's a follow up to Spoils Of Babylon, written by the same guy who did all the rest of this too I think

if they play this 100% straight all the way while just kinda subtly overemphasizing the hysterical pitch of the regular lifetime movie it's gonna be great

This was pretty entertaining, mostly because Ferrell and Wiig play it deadass serious the entire time so a lot of stuff is hilarious just by accident.
Pregnant Wiig falling off the dock
It kinda exists in simultaneously as entry in the genre and as a spoof of the genre, which is pretty amazing.
Also, hottest pregnant girl ever

Was it funny in a "wink wink nudge" ironic kinda way or were there actually parts that were clearly meant to cause laughter? I don't think I could watch an entire movie of the former.

The former, its played as a serious low-budget lifetime thriller.
Most of the humor comes from Ferrell and Wiig milking the melodrama for all its worth.
