lets not forget it was little finger who told the Starks it was Tyrion's. only time he "helps" anyone it's really to help himself.

Even though Drizzle jogged my memory and I'm pretty sure I remember that whole plot, I'm going to let him reply because he's better at explaining shit.

The amount of stuff I've forgotten about this series is astounding, I might reread before winds of winter drops in 2024

The knife belonged to Robert's armory (Lil Finger lost it to him in a bet or something like that). Joffrey is the one that sent the assassin to kill Bran, after stealing the knife. He doesn't do this as a specific act of malice, but because he overhears drunken Robert talking about how Bran should be put out of his misery in the same way you'd put down a lame horse. At this point Joff is still like 12-13, and not fully congealed into the piece of shit he'll become later. He basically does it seeking attention/approval from Robert. This act actually paints his whole character in an interesting light - granted there's clearly something deeply wrong with him, but you start to wonder how much of his nonsense is a product of a boy acting out for attention from a father that's always drunk and fucking whores and lowkey kinda hates him.

I think Cersei knows this from the start but obviously doesn't do anything. Tyrion deduces it later, I think after Joff drops the 'this isn't the first time I handled valyrian steel' line, it leads him to see/treat Joff with a mixture of pity and contempt, which in turn hurts him later when he's accused of Joff's poisoning. Jaime finds out later on, and iirc it contributes to his later split from Cersei (I'm pissed the show is ignoring this, reformed Jaime is one of the best parts of books 4 & 5).

I don't remember how Little Finger finds out but iirc he purposefully leads Cat to believe it was Tyrion to further the plot he kicked off by having Jon Arryn poisoned

Keep in mind that this has never been 100% confirmed, just like RLJ. This plotline was kind of dropped by Tyrion somewhere in book 2/ book 3 iirc and saw no further development.

I doubt he switches teams, but if he really went north like that picture seems to indicate, that's bad ass. I just can't figure out why he'd do that. Is he looking for Benjen? Taking on the others by himself? Going to meet Bran maybe? I'm intrigued.

BTW. high sparrow said cersei's trial will be a "trial by seven" or something. leads me to believe it won't be a straight up trial by combat. i'd pictured frankenmountain crashing a courtroom. but it could be a 7v7.

Would fit with the history of Westeros: there has been at least one 7vs7 trial before, iirc first book of Dunk & Egg.

great episode, Salsa and Moist Eyes linking up is the biggest plot progression in like 3 seasons. totally on board with all the details and nuance being either wildly smudged or just ignored entirely as long as they keep moving at this pace

Tormund making sexy eyes at Brianne is the best thing that happened since Pod's magical dick

me n my homie were just talking about that before this ep. either they made it rain on her or she felt this scene was an important part of her character development. or they have her little bro in a dungeon.

looks legit to me imo

edit: i'd predicted that the dothraki will follow her. i was playing it out in my head how is this gonna go down? they don't respect women. but they do respect power. i figured she'd get the men on board with her slick talk/bang the #1 dude.... maybe bust out the dragons...... this was WAY better. can't find an image but that creepy smile she's doing right before she offs them all >>>>>>>>>>>>>

I'm guessing Railroad's version of this power grab will stretch over 700 pages of subtle power plays and long descriptions of dothraki orgy customs and dosh khaleen menopause rituals... and i'm totally ok with the show just taking care of all that with one goofy fire scene. Now there's a solid chance we'll see her and the horde show up outside the gates of Mereen within a span 3 episodes instead of 3 seasons.

I am genuinely looking forward to the next book though.^

I was disappointed that Jon didn't actually head North, but that didn't really make any sense so I'm fine with it.

When Salsa tells Jon that Ramsay has 5000 soldiers, is that a lot for a Westerosi army, or is it just a lot compared to Salsa, Jon, the 100 dudes at castle black, and the wildlings? Because Dany might be seriously overestimating the number of troops she needs if a 5,000 man army is considered large. The only reason I ask is because those 5k guys pretty much mollywhopped Stannis, who I realize was shorthanded but still.

The Lannister powerplay for taking over King's Landing seemed pretty obvious, I was surprised that old lady Tyrell went for it.

Does anybody doubt that Littlefinger is trying to take over the North with his "we have to help Sansa" pitch? He doesn't realize Jon is making his own move on Winterfell, which should make that campaign a lot smoother, but then he's going to have issues when he has to square off with the newly allied Northmen & wildling army.

At this point in the books, isn't there about 7 feet of snow on the ground in the North? I'm surprised they didn't write that into the show, because it would be an interesting twist to the upcoming siege of Winterfell and pretty cool looking, technical limitations aside. Although for the sake of pacing it's probably for the best.

Excited for the Tormund & Brienne romance.

5k is not much. i think robb's army was >20k, drogo's was 40. khaleesi's gotta have 100k now with all the horde united.

imo she should set off the westeros campaign immediately. capitalize on the momentum. get those ships built. unfortunately probly gonna have to crush the slavers first tho.

TBH if you don't fuck with the fire scene/find it goofy/etc.... go watch the tudors or something

If I remember correctly the young wolf had 20,000 northmen at his back.

If Snowman and Sansa can convince the other houses to ride for them they should have some good numbers when you add them to the wildlings and the knights of the Vale.

Right now it looks like the Bolton's have House Umber for sure but they were talking like the Manderlys could be the swing vote since they have one of the biggest armies in the North.

also.
