Solid ranking, I'd probably put Mexico ahead of Escobar 1 tho. I liked the first one, but the series really hit it's stride with Cali and I think they were able to avoid some of the plotting mistakes that are obvious in retrospect in the first two seasons (plus I just wasn't a huge fan of the actor's portrayal of Escobar). The story of Mexico wasn't quite as compelling as the previous seasons, but Diego Luna, Michael Pena, and the guys who played Rafa and Don Neto were excellent.

Roma definitely lives up to the hype. Strong Fellini/Tarkovsky vibes in a fully realized vision. Would love to hear an interview with Cauron about his upbringing and how closely it matches the film.

I also enjoyed Bodyguard so thanks for the recommendation.
I watched The Innocent Man and enjoyed that too, for all the people that like the series' like Evil Genius, Wild Wild Country, etc.

Bird box was basically the happening with blindfolds. It was pretty bullshit.

Only thing good to come of me forcing myself to finish Birdbox was that I can enjoy the IG memes now.

I think it was a cool idea and very inventive but, man, i didn't really give a shit enough about the episode to sit there and finish it.

Went in with low expectations, but Roma turned out to be a big surprise and a refreshing break from the usual shite I watch. Kind of a neo-realistic take of Brenda’s Got A Baby, innit?

Some decent Netflix original movies we’ve had in 2018. Shame they signed off the year with the hilariously bad Bird Box, however. Not even Malkovich could save that hot mess.

Doesn’t surprise me. Bird Box is very polarizing.
Everyone I’ve talked to really liked it or hated it. No middle ground at all

Sick burn, bro. Most of you have shit opinions, so this movie is probably pretty entertaining.

Well, I can assure you, if you watch it and love it, you are the one with the shit opinion.

Lol I eat sea urchin when I go, octopus, eel, I order basically the least traditional stuff ever. Sweet shrimp with the heads on it, nobody I have ever gone with hangs like me. Sometimes I fuck around and order the collars. I take it TOO far.

I finished it, but the whole choose your own adventure thing stopped being fun after like 20 minutes.

It was ok. I have no desire to rewatch it and try to see more endings or whatever.

I guess Millennials are into this kind of stuff? Just give me a 90-minute movie that you made and let me watch it, I don't want to make it for you.

This shit looks pretty intriguing. I wasn't as big of a fan of Nightcrawler as some, but it was definitely well made and Gyllenhaal was great in it.

Bandersnatch was just ok. Some of the outcomes were fun, but the fighting fantasy gimmick definitely lost its novelty real quick for me.

loved the senior developer character. but the whole plot didn't come together for me. the gimmick is predictably meta. so what. ok then the guy kills his dad in the end. crocodile broke his record in the first 30 seconds.

mediocre!
1. Nas
2. Drake

Just started watching "Murder mountain" , a doc series about the shockingly gangster under belly of the weed growers in humbolt county. I had no idea those guys did anything but not bath, smoke weed and buy into conspiracy theories.

Murder Mountain was good.
Sex Education was surprisingly good. I enjoyed it.
I love Black Mirror, but I also couldn't get through that thing.

Fyre doc was a trip, haven't/can't watch the Hulu one, but I got plenty of laughs out of the Netflix one, especially the guy who seemed a little to eager to suck a dick to save the festival.

Started the new Punisher season, pretty good so far but it's 13eps so there's no way it won't sag at some point. The first few eps play like the writers might have given up on trying to ask the tough questions about vets and PTSD and are simplifying him to be more of a generic gruff antihero, but maybe that changes later in the season.
