Anyone check out "The End of the Fucking World" with that kid from the shut up and dance episode of Black Mirror?
Thought it was pretty dope. Kept me interested and the episodes are short (22 minutes or something like that).
Also, Black Museum was the best episode of the Black Mirror this season. It was very Tales From The Crypt like, which I loved, and one of the stories twisted me up pretty good. Black Museum>USS>Hang The DJ>Arkangel>Crocodile>Metalhead
Loved Big Mouth too. Been some good shit.

Like Altered Carbon, but i'm not crazy about the changes made to the book. Looks good and the action is solid enough though.

Love Babylon Berlin, a really nice surprise

I watched it last night. Feeling a bit betrayed but we'll see how the fourth one fits in to all this.

It was pretty weak, some really solid actors and potential ruined by a horrible script. I'll check out Altered Carbon soon after I finish Electric Dreams on Amazon which started out really dope, but has gotten progressively worse as I've watched.

good production values. i'm only 1 ep deep but
the azn guy they had playing the character originally was perfect. why did they have to replace him with white bread male model? i'm all for whites displacing minority jobs but not in this case.

That doesn’t need to be in spoilers. They literally explain it in the episode why

not only is it explained in the episode but it's literally the premise of the entire show

Exactly

Only 3 episodes in. Good not great. I’m dying to watch it faster. Unfortunately my lady has the attention span and bed time of a five year old.

Man some of u suckers still don't get the basics...

Watched ep 2.... Did they really just rush this put after watching the new bladerunner? Tbh this show kinda sucks. What is the point of all these dumbass characters? Discount olivia pope? The one thing they get right is the intense moments. But I'd still rather watch ryan gosling line up his hologram gf with some street hooker.

Altered Carbon was kinda alright, but somewhat wack. Ortegas acting was awful. I stopped caring about the murder quickly. Blade Runner for millennials visuals.

Babylon Berlin is dope as hell. I'm 5 episodes in and I am loving it.

Altered Carbon picks up in the second half. I think the key to getting the most out of it is using Johnny Mnemonic as your genre reference point, not Bladerunner.

Yeah the second half was a lot better. The Mexican detective has great boobs. The twist in the second half so obvious it was a bit painful. Overall a good watch.

Another mega TV producer is leaving a longtime studio home to head to Netflix. In what is believed to be the biggest TV pact ever, Ryan Murphy, an Emmy, Golden Globe and Peabody Award-winning producer, director and writer, has signed an overall deal with Netflix, which could reach as high as $300 million, sources said. It starts July 1.

it has a few rough parts but overall I thought it was pretty damn good and the best jokes had me in tears

I liked it more than the new Chappelle ones I've seen, he's better at being an aging dude in a changing world and his takes on sensitive topics mostly landed better than Dave's

chappelle def fell off in terms of funniness but he still makes some pretty deep points on the recent stuff. i'll peep rock

in other news u guys were on point saying altered carbon gets better. marathoned 3 eps last night. script is way more clever than i expected from first couple eps. it's like they lured me in to thinking they were weak while scanning for opportunities to strike.

Rock’s talk about his marriage was real. I found it really good. I could roll with saying that it was better than Chappelle... but ultimately no. Chris is better at handling issues in a more adult way but Dave is the better comedian by far.

Anyone else watch "Everything Sucks" yet? It's solid, reminds me of Freaks and Geeks, but set in 1996. The soundtrack and wardrobe is spot on as well, took me back to 8th grade for sure.

had a hangover day with the kid shipped out to grandma's and watched the entire Everything Sucks.

definitely a fun watch if you went to middle school/high school in the 90s, but it's basically poor man's freaks and geeks.

I agree that the second half of Altered Carbon was better and I actually enjoy that it wrapped up pretty neatly.

Are they doing more of these? I know the guy has three books about Kovac and Altered Carbon is the second one.

AC is the first one of the trilogy, I'm hoping they'll pick up the other books but the ending of the show leaves a big loose end that doesn't exist in the book so I'm wondering if they'll just follow with that instead.

^what was the loose end? tbh i wasn't paying close attention near the end

ultimately i'll put this well below blade runner 2 and a bit above ghost in the shell in the subgenre of 'dyspotian futurism concerning the nature of consciousness and the soul in a grimey metropolis with asian elements'
