Steve Jobs
Sicario

Legitimately torn between watching The Revenant and Hateful 8 or waiting to see them properly in theaters.

Hateful 8 is more dialogue heavy than previous qt efforts.

Can we get a Star Wars screener please?

Sicario probably is a bluray rip, its getting a blu-ray release in 2 weeks, I'm sure review copies are already out.

The Lobster screener is out there too I see.

:icedit: Yup Yify already has the BR Rip of Sicario up https://yts.ag/movie/sicario-2015" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Downloaded a bunch of these, most of them look like shit just on my computer monitor (Joy, Bridge of Spies, Heart of the Sea, Good Dinosaur, Lobster all look like shit). They might be sourced from dvdscreeners but they are not even close to 720p resolution. Pass.

The Revenant rip looks pretty good though.

watched the reverant screener last night. Great fucking flick and quality was good...but I feel like I really did myself a disservice by not watching it in theater.

Going to the roadshow screening of The Hateful Eight. Limited release, just over 100 cinemas in USA, 70 MM Ultra Panavision celluloid film, with overture, intermission and a movie program on Christmas day. Pretty excited about it.

Will watch screeners listed above but waiting for The Revenant as well as Legend to hit theaters.

I'm wondering if this is maybe why I thought some of the sfx work Crimson Peak wasn't that great. My rip was supposedly 720 but maybe it was worse, and I was watching it on a 50'' tv so a lower quality would be very noticeable for moving effects. The colors and resolution on stationary stuff looked great though, so idk...

BTW, just going by file names, the DVDSCR versions of Bridge Of Spies and Good Dinosaur and a few others were replaced with HD versions. Sicario is most definitely the BR version

Yeah I saw Crimson Peak in IMAX and saw none of what you were talking about with the SFX. Movie was one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen on a screen.
Del Toro is beyond obsessive about that stuff, almost to a point of psychosis, he wouldn't let little details get fucked up like that. Seeing it in a diminished quality is not doing it justice.

Most of those ones that are labeled HD versions aren't hi-def either, the HD good dinosaur wasn't even 720 either.
