Tommy can’t move past it. For two friends on the brink of losing everything, a dusty pipe-dream of opening up an upscale restaurant in their hometown of the Bronx is all they have left to turn their lives around. They also betray, backstab, manipulate and coerce each other into the most dangerous situations imaginable. (Premieres June 5th)

Power Monkeys (Channel 4)
Image

Following the success of their 2015 election comedy Ballot Monkeys, Andy Hamilton and Guy Jenkin (Ballot Monkeys, Outnumbered, Drop the Dead Donkey) return to Channel 4 with a six-part satire lampooning the fictional communications and social media ‘experts’ on both sides of the EU referendum, as well as taking audiences a few doors down from the Kremlin and into the imagined world of Donald Trump’s campaign plane. (Premieres June 8th)

Winsanity (GSN)
Image

Series host, actor Donald Faison (Scrubs) will take you on an epic winning spree, but only if you can correctly stack the facts. (i.e.: Which is greater: the number of marriages each year in the US, or the number of President Barack Obama’s Twitter followers?). Stack ‘em up right, and we will make it RAIN!
That’s right. Every time a contestant wins a prize, so do members of our studio audience. And players at home will have an opportunity to win prizes too. Comedian Kira Soltanovich (How to Be a Grownup) joins Donald as an announcer on this winsane new game show you don’t want to miss. (Premieres June 9th)

Ladylike (MTV)
Image

Your mother would define the term "ladylike" as the traditional way refined women behave. But on this weekly half hour hidden camera prank show, our group of pranksters will poke holes in that definition as they show the world how they think a lady should act. Ladylike takes the attitude and subject matter of Girl Code and steps out of the studio and onto the street where the cast will prank their friends and the unsuspecting public. Along the way they may even break down some social barriers and have fun the way only a real lady can! (Premieres June 9th)

O.J.: Made in America (ABC/ESPN)
Image

It is the defining cultural tale of modern America - a saga of race, celebrity, media, violence, and the criminal justice system. And two decades after its unforgettable climax, it continues to fascinate, polarize, and even, yes, develop new chapters. Now, the producers of ESPN's award-winning 30 for 30 have made it the subject of their first documentary-event and most ambitious project yet. From Peabody and Emmy-award winning director Ezra Edelman, it's O.J.: Made in America.
"O.J." revisits - and redefines - it all. The domestic abuse. The police investigation. The white Bronco chase. The trial of the century. The motive, the blood, the glove. The verdict. The aftermath. Drawing upon more than seventy interviews- from longtime friends and colleagues of Simpson to the recognizable protagonists of the murder investigation to observers and commentators with distinct connections to the story - the docu-event is an engrossing, compelling, and unforgettable look at a tantalizing saga. Because at the end of what seems like a search for the real truth about O.J. Simpson, what's revealed just as powerfully is a collection of indelible, unshakeable, and haunting truths about America, and about ourselves. (Premieres June 11th)

Ride with Norman Reedus (AMC)
Image

Ride with Norman Reedus follows The Walking Dead star and motorcycle enthusiast Norman Reedus as he hits the open road to explore local biker culture and celebrate the best and brightest collectors, mechanics and craftsmen around the country. Each episode will feature Reedus and a riding companion – a fellow actor, musician, friend or local chopper fanatic – as they journey to custom bike shops, tattoo parlors, collector’s warehouses, or a roadside smokehouse… with plenty of time for unplanned detours and tire changes. (Premieres June 12th)

Along the way, he pretends to be the congregation's new minister and reconnects with a former one-night-stand (Joey Lauren Adams), when he learns he has a 15-year-old daughter (Madison Iseman) he's never met. (Premieres June 12th)

BrainDead (CBS)

I've already finished all five episodes of Thirteen. I thought that was decent. Only other show I'll watch this month will be Power Monkeys. It's predecessor, Ballot Monkeys, was a very funny show, so I'm expecting much of the same.

I saw some list of upcoming shows and more or less 30% of them were based on movies. This month we got Uncle Buck and Animal Kingdom, of all things, to be released.

I guess it makes sense to identify cool concepts that can be spread thin and milked dry in this way.
Whether to Jason of Philaflava or John Podesta, I will speak my fucking perspective openly

lool I didnt' even make the connection with Animal Kingdom. Seems odd to turn a small aussie indie into a series but the underlying concept is pretty easy to adapter into any locale and modern time period I guess and crime dramas will never go out of style.
