Dara O Briain’s Go 8 Bit (Dave)

Dara O Briain's Go 8 Bit is based on the smash hit live Edinburgh show and each episode sees two celebrity guests compete to be crowned 8 Bit Champion. The team captains are Steve McNeil, a self-confessed gaming geek, and Sam Pamphilon, a cynical amateur, who both devised and hosted the original show.
Throughout the series they'll guide their celebrity guest teammates through five rounds of increasingly competitive, hilarious gaming contests.
Whether it be an arcade classic like Pac-Man, the latest blockbuster Grand Theft Auto or Fallout title, the most cutting-edge computer technology - or even larger-than-life game-inspired physical challenges - Dara and the show's resident gaming expert Ellie Gibson will be on hand to adjudicate, commentate, and generally wind up the contestants. Let the games commence. (Premieres September 5th)

Harley and the Davidsons (Discovery)

A Harley-Davidson is more than a motorcycle. It is a symbol of Americana, built from the ground up by founders Walter and Arthur Davidson and their friend Bill Harley. But the road to success was not exactly smooth - it was filled with innumerable obstacles, ruthless competitors and extraordinary risks. Together these three young men, the sons of blue-collar immigrants, gave everything they had to ensure the survival of the company they founded. But just how far would they go to reach the ultimate American dream?
Based on a true story, Harley and the Davidsons charts the birth of this iconic bike during a time of great social and technological change beginning at the turn of the 20th century. Walter, Arthur and Bill risked their entire fortune and livelihood to launch the budding enterprise. Each of these men faced very different challenges, but it was the motorcycle that united their dreams and ambitions.
Walter, Arthur, and Bill cemented Harley-Davidson's reputation as a builder of bikes that go anywhere, can ride hard and ignore all the rules. It's a legacy that has endured over 100 years - and at the heart of the brand and its loyal riders. (Premieres September 5th)

Mary + Jane (MTV)

From writing/directing team and executive producers Deborah Kaplan and Harry Elfont (Can’t Hardly Wait) and Television 360 (Game of Thrones) comes MTV's single-camera, half-hour comedy about Jordan (Scout Durwood) and Paige (Jessica Rothe), two twenty-something best friends who run an all-female weed delivery service in Los Angeles. Filled with funny, raw and bizarre adventures, the show explores the uncharted territory as Los Angeles comes out of the Green Closet and gets into high and higher times. (Premieres September 5th)

Loosely Exactly Nicole (MTV)

Nicole Byer is living the Hollywood dream. Well, Hollywood adjacent – the deep valley to be precise and it’s not so much a dream but a struggle. In this hilarious half-hour comedy, we’ll watch as Nicole, exuding her special brand of confidence and irreverence, demonstrates the hilarious missteps of what it means to be out on your own for the first time. She’ll deal with humiliating auditions, unpaid electric bills, friendship ups and downs, and the battlefield that is Tinder as she slowly but surely finds her voice as a comedian. (Premieres September 5th)

StartUp (Crackle)

Sometimes you have to build a company from the underground up. Martin Freeman (Sherlock) and Adam Brody (The O.C.) star in a Crackle Original Series about a group of underdog techies who take start-up funding from the wrong side of the tracks—and risk paying with their lives. (Premieres September 6th)

Atlanta (FX)

Two cousins work through the Atlanta music scene in order to better their lives and the lives of their families. (Premieres September 6th)

Queen Sugar (OWN)

The contemporary drama Queen Sugar, set in the fictional town of Saint Josephine, Louisiana, chronicles the lives and loves of the estranged Bordelon siblings: Nova (Rutina Wesley, True Blood), a worldly-wise journalist and activist; Charley (Dawn-Lyen Gardner, Unforgettable), the savvy wife and manager of a professional basketball star; and Ralph Angel (Kofi Siriboe, Awkward), a formerly incarcerated young father in search of redemption.
After a family tragedy, the Bordelons must navigate the triumphs and struggles of their complicated lives in order to run a struggling sugarcane farm in the Deep South. Led by acclaimed film director Ava DuVernay, who directed the first two episodes, all episodes in the series’ debut season are directed by women. (Premieres September 6th)

Better Things (FX)

Better Things is a new comedy series on FX co-created by Pamela Adlon and Louis C.K., starring Adlon as “Sam Fox,” a single, working actor with no filter trying to raise her three daughters – “Max” (Mikey Madison), “Frankie” (Hannah Alligood) and “Duke” (Olivia Edward) – in Los Angeles. She is mom, dad, referee and the cops.
Sam also watches out for her mother, “Phil” (Celia Imrie), an English expatriate, who lives across the street. Sam’s just trying to earn a living, navigate her daughters’ lives, have fun with a friend or two and also — just maybe — squeeze in some private time once in a while. (Premieres September 8th)

One Mississippi (Amazon)

One Mississippi is a dark comedy inspired by comedian Tig Notaro's life. Tig returns to her hometown in Mississippi, where she contends with the death of her mother and her own mortality as she embarks on a painful yet hilarious journey that unearths uncomfortable truths about her family and her self. (Premieres September 9th)

Quarry (Cinemax)

Quarry is the story of Mac Conway, a Marine who returns home to Memphis from Vietnam in 1972 and finds himself shunned by those he loves and demonized by the public. As he struggles to cope with his experiences at war, Conway is drawn into a network of killing and corruption that spans the length of the Mississippi River. (Premieres September 9th)

Son of Zorn (Fox)

From executive producers Phil Lord and Christopher Miller (The LEGO Movie, 21 Jump Street), and featuring the voice of Jason Sudeikis (The Last Man on Earth, Horrible Bosses, We’re the Millers), Son of Zorn is a new hybrid live-action/animated comedy about a warrior from a faraway island in the Pacific Ocean – where everything and everyone is animated – who returns to Orange County, CA, to win back his live-action ex-wife and teenage son.
Zorn (Sudeikis), the Defender of Zephyria, Conqueror of the tribes of Agon, decapitator of the dark herdsmen of Grith, has fought in countless epic battles throughout his life, but he may find the greatest challenge of all when he travels back to suburbia to reconnect with his family.
Once there, Zorn finds himself estranged from his son, Alangulon or just “Alan” (Johnny Pemberton, 21 Jump Street), a 17-year-old with a mellow, P.C. attitude; and Alan’s mother, Zorn’s ex-wife, Edie (Cheryl Hines, Curb Your Enthusiasm), a former wild child now living the life of an upper middle class mom. Zorn’s efforts to win them back are complicated by the fact that Edie is now engaged to Craig (Tim Meadows, Saturday Night Live), an online psychology professor and a stable presence in their lives. Nevertheless, to be a good dad, Zorn commits to remaining in Orange County for the long haul, renting an apartment and even working in the exciting field of industrial soap sales under his boss, Linda (Artemis Pebdani, Scandal, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia), who appreciates his passion, but just wants him to rein it in at the office.
As he adjusts to life in the suburbs, Zorn is the classic fish out of water, navigating his way through fatherhood, divorce and a boring office job. Sure, as an overlord of pain, he defeated glombeasts, wolf-bats and bloodthirsty arachnobots, but now he’ll go toe-to-toe with a new set of enemies: meter maids, dress codes and the DMV. (Premieres September 11th)

Legends of Chamberlain Heights (Comedy Central)

Even though best friends Grover, Milk and Jamal are lowly benchwarmers on the Michael Clarke Duncan High basketball team, they've got superstar dreams. But it won't be easy to ascend from freshmen to legends: They'll need to prove themselves as champions on and off the court if they hope to earn any respect. Only time will tell if they have what it takes in this new animated series. (Premieres September 14th)

Fleabag (Amazon)

Fleabag is a hilarious and poignant window into the mind of a dry-witted, sexual, angry, grief-riddled woman, as she hurls herself at modern living in London. Award-winning playwright Phoebe Waller-Bridge writes and stars as Fleabag, an unfiltered woman trying to heal, while rejecting anyone who tries to help her and keeping up her bravado all along. (Premieres September 16th)

High Maintenance (HBO)

Created and written by the married duo, Katja Blichfeld and Ben Sinclair, High Maintenance follows a Brooklyn pot dealer as he delivers to clients with neuroses as diverse as the city. Ben Sinclair stars as “The Guy,” an everyman pot dealer who makes cameo appearances in the lives of various New York City residents, providing them with weed and getting a glimpse at their daily routines and how they light things up. (Premieres September 16th)

(Premieres September 16th)

The Case Of: JonBenét Ramsey (CBS)

The Case of: JonBenét Ramsey is a six-hour limited event docu-series that re-examines the unsolved JonBenét Ramsey Murder. The unscripted, limited run series comes from Emmy Award-winning Executive Producer Tom Forman (9/11, 48 Hours, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition) and his company, Critical Content. The series will re-unite original investigators of the infamous case, accompanied by new experts, to re-examine the unsolved case from 20 years ago. (Premieres September 18th)

Kevin Can Wait (CBS)

Kevin James returns to series television in an irresistible comedy about a newly retired police officer looking forward to quality time with his family—and his fellow retired cops. The fun has to wait…his family is his new beat. (Premieres September 19th)

The Good Place (NBC)

From Michael Schur, executive producer of Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Parks and Recreation, comes a smart, unique new comedy that follows Eleanor Shellstrop (Kristen Bell, House of Lies, Veronica Mars), an ordinary woman who, through an extraordinary string of events, enters the afterlife where she comes to realize that she hasn't been a very good person. With the help of her wise afterlife mentor (Ted Danson, Bored to Death, Cheers), she's determined to shed her old way of living and discover the awesome (or at least the pretty good) person within. (Premieres September 19th)

Bull (CBS)

Bull stars Michael Weatherly as Dr. Jason Bull in a drama inspired by the early career of Dr. Phil McGraw, the founder of one of the most prolific trial consulting firms of all time. Brilliant, brash and charming, Dr. Bull is the ultimate puppet master as he combines psychology, human intuition and high tech data to learn what makes jurors, attorneys, witnesses and the accused tick. Bull employs an enviable team of experts at Trial Analysis Corporation to shape successful narratives down to the very last detail. They include his quick-witted former brother-in-law, Benny Colón, a lawyer who acts as defense attorney in the company’s mock trials; Marissa Morgan, a cutting-edge neurolinguistics expert from the Department of Homeland Security; former NYPD detective Danny James, the firm’s tough but relatable investigator; haughty millennial hacker Cable McCrory, who is responsible for gathering cyber intelligence; and Chunk Palmer, a fashion-conscious stylist and former All-American lineman who fine tunes clients’ appearances for trial. In high-stakes trials, Bull’s combination of remarkable insight into human nature, three Ph.D.’s and a top-notch staff creates winning strategies that tip the scales of justice in his clients’ favor. (Premieres September 20th)

This Is Us (NBC)

Sometimes life will surprise you. Starring Mandy Moore (A Walk to Remember), Milo Ventimiglia (Heroes, Gilmore Girls) and Sterling K. Brown (The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story), this refreshingly honest and provocative series follows a unique ensemble. As their paths cross and their life stories intertwine in curious ways, we find that several of them share the same birthday and so much more than anyone would expect. From the writer and directors of Crazy, Stupid, Love comes a smart, modern dramedy that will challenge your everyday presumptions about the people you think you know. (Premieres September 20th)

Speechless (ABC)

Maya DiMeo (Minnie Driver) is a mom on a mission who will do anything for her husband Jimmy, her kids Ray, Dylan, and JJ, her eldest son with cerebral palsy. As Maya fights injustices both real and imagined, the family works to make a new home for themselves, and searches for just the right person to give JJ his "voice." (Premieres September 21st)

Designated Survivor (ABC)

Emmy and Golden Globe-winning actor Kiefer Sutherland (24) returns to primetime TV in a conspiracy thriller as Tom Kirkman, a lower-level cabinet member who unexpectedly becomes president after a devastating attack on Washington. He will struggle to prevent the country and his own family from falling into chaos, as he is thrust into one of the most difficult presidencies in history. (Premieres September 21st)

Lethal Weapon (Fox)

Combining action and drama with ride-or-die friendship and humor, Lethal Weapon reimagines the hit movie franchise, as it follows classic cop duo Riggs and Murtaugh, who work a crime-ridden beat in modern-day Los Angeles.
Grief-stricken after the loss of his young wife and unborn child, ex-Navy SEAL-turned-detective Martin Riggs (Clayne Crawford, Rectify) moves to California to “start over” at the LAPD. He’s paired up with Roger Murtaiugh (Emmy Award nominee Damon Wayans, My Wife and Kids, In Living Color), who’s just coming back to the job after a near-fatal heart attack. Riggs’ penchant for diving headfirst into the line of fire immediately clashes with Murtaugh’s prudent, by-the-book technique.
When Captain Brooks Avery (Kevin Rahm, Mad Men) assigns them their first case together, Riggs drags Murtaugh into a high-speed chase culminating inside the Long Beach Grand Prix and a seaport shootout with drug dealers – and despite his protests, the older cop feels more alive than he has in years. Meanwhile, Riggs gets a glimpse of why Murtaugh is so determined to get home safely at the end of each day – he’s got a wife, Trish (Keesha Sharp, The People v. OJ Simpson: American Crime Story), teenagers Roger, Jr. (Dante Brown, Mr. Robinson) and Riana (newcomer Chandler Kinney) and a newborn baby.
Riggs’ life-on-the-edge attitude makes him a priority case for the department’s psychologist, Dr. Maureen “Mo” Cahill (Jordana Brewster, Furious 7). Rounding out the precinct is Scorsese (Johnathan Fernandez, Girls, Younger), a pathologist with the LAPD who got his nickname after a stint in film school, which no one will let him forget.
By the time their first investigation ends, Riggs realizes he may have found something worth living for – a partner and friend, Murtaugh. And even Murtaugh figures this arrangement might just work out after all. If only Riggs doesn’t get them killed first… (Premieres September 21st)

Notorious (ABC)

Notorious centers on the symbiotic relationship between charismatic defense attorney Jake Gregorian (Daniel Sunjata) and powerhouse TV producer Julia George (Piper Perabo), as they attempt to control the media, the justice system and ultimately each other. (Premieres September 22nd)

Pitch (Fox)

Pitch is the dramatic and inspirational story of a young pitcher who becomes the first woman to play Major League Baseball.
A beautiful, tough and gifted athlete, Ginny Baker (Kylie Bunbury, Under the Dome) is vaulted into instant fame when she’s called up by the San Diego Padres to make her Major League debut.
Like any rookie, Ginny must prove herself to her teammates. Foremost among them is Mike Lawson (Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Franklin & Bash, NYPD Blue), the team’s ruggedly handsome star catcher. There’s instant chemistry between them, although neither dares admit it. After all, Mike is captain of the team and a few of his players don’t even want Ginny on the field. One of the players watching Ginny’s back is center fielder Blip Sanders (Mo McRae, Sons of Anarchy), an old friend from the minor leagues and his wife Evelyn (Meagan Holder, You Again, Bring it On: Fight to the Finish).
Guiding her is her agent/confidante, Amelia Slater (Ali Larter, Legends, Heroes). Amelia saw Ginny’s star potential early on and left her previous job as a Hollywood publicist to concentrate on the young phenom, bringing along her young assistant Eliot (Tim Jo, The Neighbors).
Although groomed for this moment by her demanding father, Bill Baker (guest star Michael Beach, Sons of Anarchy), the end of Ginny’s improbable journey is the beginning of an almost impossible one: representing her gender as she embarks on a successful baseball career under the glare of the white-hot media spotlight.
The team’s manager, Al Luongo (Dan Lauria, The Wonder Years, Sullivan and Sons), and general manager, Oscar Arguella (Mark Consuelos, All My Children), bicker over whether Ginny’s presence on the field is in the team’s best interests.
Playing in the major leagues is a goal hard enough for anyone to achieve – except this player is also a woman, who happens to be the most important historical figure in sports since Jackie Robinson. This season, Ginny Baker will be the other woman trying to break into one of the oldest, most exclusive men’s clubs in the country. (Premieres September 22nd)

Paranoid (ITV)

A group of detectives embark on what seems to be a straightforward murder investigation, but as they delve deeper into the case they are quickly drawn into the twists and turns of an ever-darkening mystery, which takes them unexpectedly across Europe. (Premieres September 22nd)

Easy (Netflix)

Easy is an anthology series that explores diverse Chicago characters as they fumble through the modern maze of love, sex, technology, and culture. (Premieres September 22nd)

Debate Wars (Seeso)

Debate Wars is a comedy debate show moderated by Michael Ian Black where two teams of comedians and improvisers enter the "Debatium" to settle, once and for all, the greatest arguments of all time – cats versus dogs, pie versus cake, babies versus old people – all in front of a live audience. (Premieres September 22nd)

MacGyver (CBS)

MacGyver, a reimagining of the classic series, is an action-adventure drama about 20-something Angus “Mac” MacGyver, who creates a clandestine organization within the U.S. government where he uses his extraordinary talent for unconventional problem solving and vast scientific knowledge to save lives. Joining his team on high-risk missions around the globe is maverick former CIA agent Jack Dalton and Patricia Thornton, ex-field agent turned director of operations and Riley Davis, an unpredictable computer hacker with a chip on her shoulder. At home, MacGyver is entertained by his ambitious roommate, Wilt Bozer. Under the aegis of the Department of External Services, MacGyver takes on the responsibility of saving the world, armed to the teeth with resourcefulness and little more than bubble gum and a paper clip. (Premieres September 23rd)

The Exorcist (Fox)

Widely regarded as the greatest horror movie ever made, The Exorcist broke box office records and terrified audiences around the world. Now, more than four decades after the Academy Award-nominated film, The Exorcist returns as a TV series.
Directed by Rupert Wyatt (Rise of the Planet of the Apes), The Exorcist is a propulsive psychological thriller following two very different priests tackling one family’s case of horrifying demonic possession. Father Tomas Ortega (Alfonso Herrera, Sense8, The Chosen) is the new face of the Catholic Church: progressive, ambitious and compassionate. He runs a small, but loyal, parish in the suburbs of Chicago. He has no idea that his quiet life is about to change forever. Deep in the slums of Mexico City, another priest has found himself locked in a life-and-death struggle with evil. Father Marcus Keane (Ben Daniels, Flesh and Bone, House of Cards) is a modern-day Templar Knight, an orphan raised since childhood by the Vatican to wage war against its enemies. Father Marcus is everything Father Tomas is not: relentless, abrasive and utterly consumed by his mission – and he constantly butts heads with his adversary within the church, Father Bennett (Kurt Egyiawan, Beasts of No Nation).
Caught in the middle of the two priests is the Rance family, who are members of Tomas’ parish. On the surface, they’re a normal, American family, but all is not as it seems in this household. The patriarch, Henry Rance (Alan Ruck, Spin City, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off), is recovering from a traumatic injury. Eldest daughter Katherine (Brianne Howey, Scream Queens) has become a recluse who refuses to leave her room. Her younger sister, Casey (Hannah Kasulka, The Fosters), thinks she’s hearing strange noises coming from inside the walls. And mother Angela (Academy Award and Golden Globe winner Geena Davis, Commander in Chief, Thelma & Louise) believes there is something in the house, a demonic presence, growing stronger by the day. Desperate, she begs Father Tomas for help, unwittingly setting the naïve young priest on a collision course with Father Marcus. Separately, each faces an insurmountable task, but together they become the Rances’ only hope against an evil force that has been mobilizing for centuries. (Premieres September 23rd)

Van Helsing (Syfy)

Van Helsing is set in the near future, where vampires have risen and taken control. Vanessa Van Helsing is humanity's last hope, as her unique blood composition gives her the ability to turn vampires human. With this secret weapon, Vanessa becomes a prime target for the vampires. (Premieres September 23rd)

Aftermath (Syfy)

James Tupper and Anne Heche star In Aftermath, which follows the Copeland family (parents Karen and Joshua, and their children Dana, Brianna and Matt) as they battle for survival when civilization comes to an apocalyptic end, triggered by massive storms, meteor strikes, earthquakes, a plague – and the rise of supernatural creatures. (Premieres September 27th)

Crisis in Six Scenes (Amazon)

Crisis in Six Scenes is a comedy that takes place in the 1960's during turbulent times in the United States and a middle class suburban family is visited by a guest who turns their household completely upside down. (Premieres September 30th)

Marvel's Luke Cage (Netflix)

In this Marvel live action series, a street-fighting ex-con battles crime on the streets of New York as the Super Hero, Luke Cage. (Premieres September 30th)

Lots of interesting stuff that I'd probably be down for as long as the reviews are good.

Better Things, because Pamela & Louis
Son of Zorn, because Phil Lord & Christopher Miller
Designated Survivor, because Jack Bauer
Harley & The Davidsons, because motorcycles

Unsure about Luke Cage, dude was okay as a sidekick in Jessica Jones but frankly he's not that great of an actor or very charismatic and I don't know if he can carry his own show.

Lol Cage is actually the only one that I'm really interested in of these. Agreed that the actor is not the most charismatic, but all the promo looks good and I'm confident in it delivering in entertainment value. The guy playing DareDevil was a huge tool and that still turned out ok.

there's some ok stuff among the rest but most of it feels like some shit I'll watch for a few eps and not hate but not like enough to stick with it either

was curious about Son Of Zorn from the posters but that trailer looks like more of the same 'what if cartoon characters acted like real people wouldn't that be wacky, oh and we'll throw in some sex jokes too because that's edgy' shit that Comedy Central tries to push roughly once a year

I can't wait for Luke Cage, every episode is named after a Gang Starr song and they are supposed to be tackling race relations in a modern way. Could obviously be taking on too much, but the subject matter has my interest more peaked than Daredevil and Jessica Jones did.

I'll also be checking out Atlanta and Westworld.

Fitting, dude playing Cage has about as much of an emotional range acting as Guru's monotone raps.

it's really kinda baffling they didn't get Michael Jai White to play Cage, especially since the trailers show so much hand to hand and the next series is Iron Fist

Atlanta and Luke Cage for me, will probably check out that Abandoned Places also. Vice has a lot of good ideas but in some instances the host just ruins the whole thing.

I'll be watching:

-Better Things
-Quarry
-High Maintenance - Watched several of these when it was a Vimeo series. Those were like 5-minute webisodes. Hopefully, 30 minutes won't feel like a drag.
-Crisis in Six Scenes

I've already watched the full season of Fleabag. Went in not knowing anything about it or its cast. Didn't even know Amazon had the US rights to it. This show may end up being my favorite show of 2016.

Abandoned Places premiere was solid, I'd forgotten how bitchmade Rick McCrank was since my skateboard video watching days, but it's still a watchable, interesting, and really well shot show.

Didn't see this on this but, Quarry is off to a good start. Its like they took away Banshee and replace with something hardcore based in the south around the early 1970s.

I caved and got Cinemax just to watch Quarry and after 1 episode it was well worth it, holy shit what a first episode. I was skeptical of the Rectify comparisons (although I too noticed them early on), but it became something else all together and was as well written of a first episode as I can remember since True D season 1.

The Good Place is getting pretty good now, especially with Adam Scott showing up in full Step Brothers dickhead mode.

The show seemed pretty milquetoast, so you're saying it's worth a shot?

Yeah it's pretty good.
Its a Michael Schur comedy, so if you liked Parks and Rec or The Office type humor, you should like it.
Doesn't start getting that funny until about 4 episodes in. Both P&R and The Office took about a season to really figure out the characters either, I'm assuming this will be the same.
