Here’s what’s premiering for the month of October.


Versailles (Ovation TV)

At 28, King Louis XIV of France commissions Versailles, the most beautiful palace in Europe, which serves as the King’s gilded prison – keeping his friends close and enemies closer.
Enter a world of untold wealth, power, and passion. Where love and lust are just a heartbeat away from deceit and betrayal. (Premieres October1st)




Westworld (HBO)

The one-hour drama series Westworld is a dark odyssey about the dawn of artificial consciousness and the evolution of sin. Set at the intersection of the near future and the reimagined past, it explores a world in which every human appetite, no matter how noble or depraved, can be indulged. (Premieres October 2nd)




Conviction (ABC)

Lawyer and former First Daughter Hayes Morrison (Hayley Atwell, Marvel's Agent Carter) is about to accept a job offered from her sexy nemesis, NY District Attorney Wayne Wallis, to avoid jail time for cocaine possession and avoid hurting her mother's Senate campaign. Working with his team at the new Conviction Integrity Unit will let her use her brilliant mind to turn over cases where there is credible suspicion of wrongful conviction, and give her a chance to turn things around with her high-powered political family… (Premieres October 3rd)




Milo Murphy’s Law (Disney XD)

The series will revolve around Milo Murphy (voiced by “Weird Al” Yankovic), a boy who lives "a couple of neighborhoods over from Phineas and Ferb", and is the descendant of the namesake of "Murphy's Law."
Milo is the personification of Murphy’s Law where anything that can go wrong will go wrong. Suffering from Extreme Hereditary Murphy’s Law condition (EHML), Milo always looks to make the best of the cards he’s been dealt and his endless optimism and enthusiasm can turn any catastrophe into a wild adventure. Armed with knowledge, a backpack full of supplies and his fearless friends,Melissa and Zack, Milo is always prepared for every possibility. Together, he and his friends will learn that it’s all about a positive attitude and not to sweat the big stuff… and it’s all big stuff. (Premieres October 3rd)




Timeless (NBC)

From Eric Kripke (Revolution, Supernatural), Shawn Ryan (The Shield) and the producers of The Blacklist comes this thrilling action-adventure series in which a mysterious criminal steals a secret state-of-the-art time machine, intent on destroying America as we know it by changing the past. Our only hope is an unexpected team: a scientist, a soldier and a history professor who use the machine's prototype to travel back in time to critical events. While they must make every effort not to affect the past themselves, they must also stay one step ahead of this dangerous fugitive. Can this handpicked team uncover the mystery behind it all and end his destruction before it's too late? (Premieres October 3rd)

Frequency (The CW)

Detective Raimy Sullivan (Peyton List) has always wanted to prove that she is nothing like her father. In 1996, NYPD Officer Frank Sullivan (Riley Smith) left Raimy and her mother behind when he went deep undercover and got himself killed. Now, twenty years later a voice crackles through her father's old ham radio – it's Frank, somehow transmitting from 1996. Separated by twenty years, they have reunited on a frequency only they can hear, but can they rewrite the story of their lives without risking everyone they love? (Premieres October 5th)




Divorce (HBO)

Sarah Jessica Parker returns to HBO in the new comedy series, Divorce. Parker stars as Frances, a woman who suddenly begins to reassess her life and her marriage, and finds that making a clean break and a fresh start is harder than she thought. (Premieres October 9th)




Insecure (HBO)

The half-hour comedy series Insecure, starring Issa Rae, Yvonne Orji, Jay Ellis and Lisa Joyce, looks at the friendship, experiences and tribulations of two black women. Created and executive produced by Issa Rae, this eight-episode series is also executive produced by Prentice Penny, Melina Matsoukas, Michael Rotenberg, Dave Beck, Jonathan Berry, and Larry Wilmore as a consultant. (Premieres October 9th)




VICE News Tonight (HBO)

Every weeknight, we'll be cutting through the noise to bring you the day's global and national news our way—no anchors, no ads, and no censors. (Premieres October 10th)




Freakish (Hulu)

A group of students trapped in a high school must fight for survival when predatory mutant freaks take over after a meltdown at the local chemical plant. (Premieres October 10th)




American Housewife (ABC)

Katie Otto, a confident, unapologetic wife and mother of three, raises her flawed family in the wealthy town of Westport, Connecticut, filled with "perfect" mommies and their "perfect" offspring. Katie's perfectly imperfect world is upended when her neighbor's decision to move notches her up from her ideal social standing and sets her on a path to ensure that doesn't happen, regardless of the consequences. (Premieres October 11th)




The Letter (Freeform)

The Letter is a bold, new relationship show that asks the simple question: “If you could, without identifying yourself, what would you tell your best friend that he or she really needed to hear?” In each stand-alone episode, four people close to one another draw names and anonymously write to the selected person a thoughtful yet totally honest letter outlining what, in their opinion, needs to be changed in order to improve and transform for the better the life of the recipient. For one week, each “reader” must follow all the rules and instructions outlined in the letter – culminating in a dramatic and emotionally charged meeting where the authors of each letter reveal themselves to their best friends. (Premieres October 11th)




Channel Zero: Candle Cove (Syfy)

Based on a popular "creepypasta" (user-generated horror stories that are published and passed around the Internet), Candle Cove centers on one man’s obsessive recollections of a mysterious children’s television program from the 1980s, and his ever-growing suspicions about the role it might have played in a series of nightmarish and deadly events from his childhood. (Premieres October 11th)




That Awkward Game Show (Spike)

That Awkward Game Show is Spike's very first game show where parents and their adult children compete to win a large cash prize while learning some of the most ridiculously shocking truths about their next of kin. The show is hosted by actor and comedian Jeff Dye (Better Late Than Never, I Can Do That, Girl Code, Last Comic Standing). (Premieres October 12th)




Zapped! (Dave)

James Buckley plays Brian Weaver, an online data marketing assistant who finds himself abruptly transported to a parallel world, a place of bizarre creatures, magical forces and psychopathic Fairies. Aided by Barbara (a soothsayer of questionable ability), Steg (an armchair revolutionary) and Howell (a deranged wizard), Zapped! follows Brian's adventures as he tries to cope with his new life in an extraordinary place and the unpredictable behaviour of the locals. Will he ever get home? Or does he have a higher purpose, a deeper reason for being brought here? And can he ever explain the concept of ‘Storage Hunters’ to his companions? (Premieres October 13th)


The Almost Impossible Game Show (MTV)

The Almost Impossible Game Show is a hilarious half-hour game show in which contestants complete physical challenges ranging from absurd to outlandish over and over again to beat the game and win cash prizes. Riding tiny bikes over a mud pit, putting on oversized pants while running full-speed on a giant treadmill and grating a heaping block of cheese onto a plate of nachos by using a grater attached to their derrières are just a few of the outrageous challenges the contestants will face. (Premieres October 13th)




Acting Out (MTV)

An outrageous comedy series in which the most irreverent established and up-and-coming comedians of today have their best stand-up routines acted out. We’ll see hilarious reenactments of the best bits, bringing new life to your favorite moments from stand up history. (Premieres October 13th)




Falling Water (USA)

A mind-bending drama, Falling Water is the story of three unrelated people, who slowly realize that they are dreaming separate parts of a single common dream. Each of them is on a mysterious and highly personal quest — one is searching for his missing girlfriend, one is searching for a lost child, one is looking to cure his catatonic mother — and it is the clues found in their collective dream that come to guide them. The deeper they dig, though, the more they come to realize that their missions touch on stakes that are much larger than their individual agendas. That the visions found in their common dream just might hold the key to the fate of the world. (Premieres October 13th)




Goliath (Amazon)

Once a powerful lawyer, Billy McBride is now burned out and washed up, spending more time in a bar than a courtroom. When he reluctantly agrees to pursue a wrongful death lawsuit against the biggest client of Cooperman & McBride, the massive law firm he helped create, Billy and his ragtag team uncover a vast and deadly conspiracy, pitting them all in a life or death trial against the ultimate Goliath. (Premieres October 14th)




Haters Back Off! (Netflix)

Dive into the oddball family life of the confident yet untalented Miranda Sings as she sets out to conquer the world, one viral video at a time. (Premieres October 14th)




Berlin Station (Epix)

CIA Officer Daniel Miller (Richard Armitage) arrives in Berlin on a clandestine mission to unearth an anonymous whistleblower, alias Thomas Shaw, and reunites with his old friend Hector DeJean (Rhys Ifans). As Daniel gets closer to Shaw, his quarry reacts in murderous fashion. The talented ensemble cast also includes: Richard Jenkins, Michelle Forbes, Leland Orser, Tamlyn Tomita, Caroline Goodall, Bernard Schütz , Mina Tander and Sabin Tambrea. (Premieres October 16th)




Graves (Epix)

Graves, a single-camera dramedy, tells the story of President Richard Graves (Nick Nolte), a former two-term POTUS as he embarks on a Don Quixote-like quest to right the wrongs of his administration and reclaim his legacy 25 years after leaving the White House. With topics ranging from immigration to gay rights, to foreign policy to public funding for arts and sciences, Graves holds nothing sacred as he unspools some of his administration’s proudest victories. His enlightenment takes place just as his wife Margaret Graves (Sela Ward) decides it’s finally time for her to pursue her own political ambitions. The cast also includes: Skylar Astin, Heléne Yorke, Chris Lowell, Callie Hernandez, Nia Vardalos, Ernie Hudson, Roger Bart, Angélica Maria, Tania Gunadi and Khotan Fernandez. (Premieres October 16th)




Eyewitness (USA)

When two innocent teenaged boys secretly meet up in the forest, they bear witness to a shooting and barely escape with their lives. Desperate to keep their relationship a secret and in fear of being found by the perpetrator, they remain silent but soon learn that what has been seen cannot be unseen and when you witness a horrible event it changes everything, forever. (Premieres October 16th)




Desus and Mero (Viceland)

In October, we'll be bringing you the first late night talk show on Viceland. Desus & Mero will be hosted by Desus Nice and the Kid Mero, the dynamic duo behind the legendary Bodega Boys podcast. (Premieres October 17th)




Crazyhead (E4)

Filled with dark humour and unexpected twists, Crazyhead is a funny, gripping series about friendship, love and facing your demons that follows the angst and exorcisms of an unlikely duo of demon hunters.
When people die most go quietly into the night. But some have unfinished business: scores to settle, blood to spill, axes to plant in people's heads... These tormented souls work through their issues by possessing the living. Most of the time they walk freely amongst us, unseen by all but a special few.
Amy is one of those few. She works in a bowling alley and never really imagined herself battling the legions of hell. It can play havoc with a girl's love life. Not to mention her mind. Thankfully Amy isn't alone. Enter Raquel. Armed with Wikipedia and a baton she bought on e-bay, Raquel's a self-made demon hunter with a whole lot of baggage and an impressive lack of social skills.
An unlikely friendship is born as Amy and Raquel attempt to navigate their way through the choppy waters of their early twenties whilst simultaneously kicking the ass of some seriously gnarly demons. What could possibly go wrong? (Premieres October 19th)




Chance (Hulu)

Based on Kem Nunn’s novel, Chance is described as a provocative psychological thriller that focuses on Eldon Chance (Hugh Laurie), a San Francisco-based forensic neuropsychiatrist who reluctantly gets sucked into a violent and dangerous world of mistaken identity, police corruption and mental illness. After an ill-advised decision regarding an alluring patient who may or may not be struggling with a multiple personality disorder, Chance finds himself in the crosshairs of her abusive spouse, who also happens to be a ruthless police detective. In over his head, Chance’s descent into the city’s shadowy underbelly, all while navigating the waters of a contentious divorce and the tribulations of his teenage daughter, soon spirals into an ever deepening exploration of one of mankind’s final frontiers — the shadowy, undiscovered country of the human mind. (Premieres October 19th)




Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency (BBC America)

Corpses—cops—trap—cult—assassins—Pararibulitis—vampires—lottery ticket—kitten—corgi—EVERYTHING IS CONNECTED! Welcome to the world of BBC America’s Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency; a trippy mystery that thrusts a reluctant sidekick into the bizarre world of an unconventional detective who believes in the interconnectedness of all things. When washed-up rocker Todd Brotzman (Elijah Wood) stumbles upon the murder scene of a millionaire, all hell breaks loose. Eccentric detective, Dirk Gently (Samuel Barnett), wholly believes they’re destined to untangle the peculiar events surrounding the mystery together, whether Todd likes it or not! A collection of wild and dangerous characters’ further infiltrate and complicate their world, each episode landing them a few random steps closer to uncovering the truth. The Doctor and his time-travelling have made the walls of space and time stretch thin, and monsters beyond imagination are planning to break through and wreak havoc upon the Earth.
Fear is coming, tragedy is coming, war is coming. Prepare yourselves, Class is coming… (Premieres October 22nd)




Dream Corp LLC (Adult Swim)

Experimental researchers meddle in their patients' dreams in Dream Corp LLC, a new comedy from creator Daniel Stessen, and executive producers John Krasinski and Stephen Merchant. (Premieres October 23rd)




Man with a Plan (CBS)

Man with a Plan stars Golden Globe Award winner Matt LeBlanc in a comedy about a contractor who starts spending more time with his kids when his wife goes back to work and discovers the truth all parents eventually realize: Their little angels are maniacs. Adam feels fully equipped to take on more parenting responsibilities while his self-assured wife, Andi, returns to the workforce after being a stay-at-home mom for 13 years. However, Adam is blindsided by how tough it is to wrangle three messy kids who can’t live without Wi-Fi. Their preteen daughter, Kate, is a master manipulator and initially thrilled that “Daddy Fun Times” is taking over, middle child Teddy can’t seem to keep his hands out of his pants despite constant reminders, and their precious youngest, Emme, is nervous about starting kindergarten under the stern supervision of Mrs. Wannamaker. In the midst of it all, Adam’s older brother and business partner, Don, enjoys giving him terrible advice about how to run his family. But, with Andi’s encouragement and advice from a couple of equally stressed parents, Marie and Lowell, Adam takes charge of his brood, lays down the law and discovers he’s going to “nail” this job. Jon Glaser Loves Gear (truTV)

In this new comedy series, actor and comedian Jon Glaser (Trainwreck, Parks and Recreation, Girls) sets out to make a docu-series about his greatest passion: gear. Ironically, it's this very obsession that continually threatens to derail the show, sending each episode spiraling off on deeply personal tangents. You like gear? You like Jon Glaser? You'll like the show. You don't like gear? You don't like Jon Glaser? Maybe you'll still like the show. Either way, Jon Glaser will still love gear. (Premieres October 26th)




The Living and the Dead (BBC America)
From Ashley Pharaoh (Life on Mars, Ashes to Ashes), The Living and the Dead stars Colin Morgan (Humans, The Fall, Merlin) and Charlotte Spencer (Glue, Line of Duty) as Nathan and Charlotte Appleby, a couple hell-bent on bringing modern ideas to an ancient rural community. When Nathan, a pioneering Victorian psychologist, brings his vivacious young wife back to live on his family's estate, he’s confronted by one disturbing case after another. Are these strange events linked merely by coincidence, or is there something more sinister — more supernatural — going on in the village?
The arrival of the railways, the unrelenting pace of industrialization, and the impact of groundbreaking science and philosophy are changing the ancient ways of rural England forever. The Great Indoors (CBS)

Joel McHale stars in this insightful and timely comedy about a renowned adventure reporter who has spent his life exploring the edges of the earth. Now that he’s taken a desk job in the digital department of the magazine, he must adapt to the times and his new world. He’s struggling to grasp the lingo of online click-bait and listicles, but his real challenge is in understanding his staff of millenials who write about the great outdoors but never actually set foot outside. (Premieres October 27th)




Pure Genius (CBS)

From the executive producer of Parenthood and Friday Night Lights comes a unique medical drama centered around a young Silicon Valley tech billionaire who builds the ultimate cutting-edge hospital that treats only the most rare and insurmountable medical mysteries—at no cost. Lending credibility to this new venture is a maverick surgeon who’s the first to discover that his boss’s mission is to get bureaucracy out of medicine, use the most forward thinkers in technology, and just save lives—including his own. (Premieres October 27th)




The Young Pope (Sky Atlantic)

From Paolo Sorrentino, director of the Academy Award-winning The Great Beauty, ‘The Young Pope tells the controversial story of the beginning of Pius XIII's pontificate. The ten-episode series stars Jude Law as the complex and conflicted Pius XIII, the first American pope. The cast includes Diane Keaton as Sister Mary, an American nun living in Vatican City, as well as Silvio Orlando, Scott Shepherd, Cécile de France, Javier Cámara, Ludivine Sagnier, Toni Bertorelli and James Cromwell. (Premieres October 27th)




Good Girls Revolt (Amazon)

Good Girls Revolt follows a group of young female researchers at "News of the Week," who ask to be treated fairly. Tracey Ullman’s Show (HBO)

Tracey Ullman’s Show, stars HBO veteran, Tracey Ullman, as a wide array of everyday people and famous faces in an all-new sketch comedy series, which looks at modern life on the British side of the pond. In this series Ullman brings her masterful skills to take on such people as Dame Judi Dench and Angela Merkel, as well as a host of others. (Premieres October 28th)




Skylanders Academy (Netflix)

Travel the vast Skyland universe in this animated action-comedy as a ragtag group of Academy cadets build trust and heart in their fight against Kaos. (Premieres October 28th)




People of Earth (TBS)

People of Earth is a new original comedy about a support group for alien abductees. The show centers on skeptical journalist Ozzie Graham (Wyatt Cenac), who investigates a support group to write about the members' supposed alien encounters. The more he digs into their oddball claims, the more he realizes there is truth in their stories and possibly even signs that point to his own alien abduction. The onetime outsider now finds himself a part of this eclectic group of misfits, all the while struggling with the idea of knowing that life could exist beyond our world. (Premieres October 31st)

super stoked for westworld. also not a series but mildly interested in new justin timberlake netflix concert film,

Westworld for sure, Chance and The living and the dead looks kind of interesting too.

Westworld sounds interesting and with HBO backing them, I'll at least check out the pilot. As far as I can tell, the rest of the series don't really look promising.
