Its almost as well directed and edited as the OJ doc. Lots of great unseen footage too.

Loved it. Great interviews (Snoop talking about the rolling stones and thinking Rolling stone magazine was the same thing was hilarious) and , like Bunz said, incredible footage.
Loved that they gave some shine to the DOC too.

Word, so many little gems buried in here.
The 30 second interview with young Kurupt and his pitbull talking about how black people are like dogs and they're cool until you fuck with them and then right on cue his dog goes after someone/something off camera and rips the leash out of his hand is just too fucking perfect. Like you couldn't intentionally stage that if you did 100 takes.

I really hope they put this out on blu-ray with tons of the unedited footage cause I would watch all of the studio stuff.

That Kurupt scene was gold.

Really liked this. The time line is a little all over the place but fuck was it well done. I meant to watch one episode ended up watching them all. Suge telling Dionne Warwick "you're a psychic, how come you didn't know I wasn't going to show up" was hilarious too.

Seeing them look back at the Source Awards was really cool. All of Jimmys buddies seem like absolute scumbags that you would want to drink and do blow with.

i'm honestly getting more out of the Jimmy side of this, I was much less familiar with his story than Dre's. All the old footage is great.

Am I the only one who doesn't give a shit about anything that happened after 2005 tho?

In fucking credible. I can't believe it took me this long to watch it. 1 & 2 I was pretty familiar with but 3 & 4 were crazy dope as fuck.

Loved:
-the actual footage of recording 'Fuck Tha Police' courtroom segment. Childhood dream: fulfilled.
-footage of Eazy-E busting a gun off on stage
-young Daz always up in the cut, looking like a sneaky bastard
-juxtaposing footage of NWA pool party with a gangsta ass classic banger
-stories of Jimmy's obsessiveness, like "spending a year in the bathroom on the phone" to sign Trent Reznor
-footage of Dre playing piano, and overall recording process. Felt like the most revealing Dre has ever been

Hated:
-how I felt after hearing DOC's next voice, after playing him rip It's Funky Enough. Heartbreaking and excruciating.
-Jimmy Iovine's character spin, omitting most of his manic dickheadishness, except showing a bit thru Gwen Stefani's mild weariness of him
-gross footage of Dre getting old bullet removed from leg :naswtf:
-parts of what was included about Suge Knight, and a very potentially disrespectful vocal edit over a Tupac Shakur segment

this shit was still really fucking awesome, and edited like the future of film: some hybrid music video biopic movie.
it did lose momentum at the end, not just cause it tried to make these dudes look like doting husbands :bunk:
fuck all that, just go in
it's :hooray:

just saw it

first 3 were pretty dope.
4th was like come on man are we really doing this? is this really what the culmination of all this shit comes to?
pretty good choices in terms of production values and soundtrack etc. some great visuals.
but really i mean....i felt like. this is a fox-esque spin job. story tellers tell the story. i feel like we really didnt get to the heart of the real story here.
its a narrative about some facts and characters and circumstances.
but its ultimately a soul-less series.
that movie lady macbeth has more soul than this.
