Did someone do a post about this yet?


Saw it last night. I liked it a lot. VERY intense. It's got some holes in it but it's full of great performances and it's got a unique feel to it.
Also, Co-written by Necro...who's also in it and it kinda great.

Heard a lot of good things about this re: direction and Pattinsons performance but had no idea Necro wrote it, that's amazing.

Is this only in select theaters ?

Yeah. It's doing a limited run in select cities. It was in L.A. already and now it's in NYC.

Pattinson is good in it but, honestly, all the co stars really steal the show. there are 2 or 3 amazing performances in there from total no names. One being one of the brothers who directed it who plays the mentally challenged brother. The fact he's not learning disabled in real life blew my mind when i saw him in person.

Oh shit...so...this is weird. Either there's two guys named tha tworked on this film, Ronald Bronstein and Ronald Braunstein , and one is necro and the other is just someone with the exact same name , spelled differently OR Necro is trying to separate his acting, music and writing. That's fucking bizarre.

Edit: I stand corrected...It's not the same guy. Shit. My bad. What are the fucking chances of that?

Still dope. I'm definitely a little bummed that necro didn't help write it. Cause the idea of that made it amazing to me.

Found the only theatre in Vegas that plays this movie

watched it yesterday soley on Blocks' recommendation and the trailer. went in knowing nothing about it.

the films score went extremely well with the directing, and the actors knocked it out the park.

if the brother isn't mentally challenged in real life that woulda fooled me, he does a great job making it look real...

but yeah like I said in a previous post, A24 really pumps out top tier movies only.

This was great. Hadn't read seen this thread, so the Necro appearance was a big surprise. Thought he was actually quite good in it, and it was funny that he had about 10 lines but managed to drop an N bomb in there.

Necro was also in the Safdie brothers' previous film, Heaven Knows What... which is also pretty good.

i liked it a lot. unlike most movies these days, it made me feel something. great acting and awesome score. reminds me of kids, the gritty nyc street hustle with nice performances from mostly non-actor actors.

One of my favorite films of last year; the dye pack scene is so masterful.

The long shot at the end playing during the credits, paired with the piano and singing, left me super-sad.
