I always dug the Minutemen/fIREHOSE duo, but it seemed like they inspired things like the Chili Peppers & Primus. Sorry, but not my cup of tea.

I agree with most above (Especially Zepplin and Booker T and the MGs)

The Bar-Kays always have had a good bassist-drummer combo (my favorite being when they backed up Isaac Hayes for "Hot Buttered Soul")

Pantera - Vinnie Paul and Rex has always been a personal fav.

RHCP - Always have been good no matter whos paired with Flea, but the Chad Smith/Flea combo is my favorite
