Should I Go To Live 8?

Post by zizek »

I live in Philly and the venue is a ten minute walk from my place. I know Jay-Z is going to be there, but I'm sure he'll only play one or two songs. Dave Matthews is, how shall I put this, a terrorist out to destroy musical goodness. I don't know who else is supposed to be there. Also, I'm not sure I want to be surrounded by thousands of sweaty meatheads. Would you go?

It's free, right..?
since it's only a ten minute walk from yer pad then why not
you get to see Jay Z and laugh at some clueless do-gooder idiots in the process.

Not sure of the entire bill for Philly but i think i heard that Will Smith, Bon Jovi and Linkin Park are playing
you'll secretly enjoy a vintage Bon Jovi song
get to throw a bottle of piss at Linkin Park
and maybe Will Smith will come out as Fresh Prince with Jazzy Jeff and perform "he's the d.j, i'm the rapper" and "parents just don't understand" before letting Jeff do his famous transformer-scratch routine he did at Union Square...

Maybe not
but if he performs "summertime" (which is classic, don't front otherwise and the cut i'd imagine he's most likely to do) then it'll be worth it
