Earth

Post by Y@k Bollocks »

Anyone remember Earth?

It was basically one guy who did various collab's under the name of 'Earth' - Kurt Cobain was on a track once, one of the guys from the Melvins did something too i think... I never copped any albums because, at the time, I didn't think i'd be able to sit through an album full of their stuff. Peep the link and you'll see what I mean.
He still tours with his wife (those shows must be a hoot!).

If anyone has anymore shit it'd be great if you could post it.

Was supposed to see Earth play a show a while back, but he never showed and was replaced by Sun 0 ))), who have a similar sound (and were awesome by the way).

Yeah it is hard to sit through albums of this sort of music, I don't know whether I really honestly like it but the idea is cool anyway.

Before Iommi, Ward, Oz, and Geezer called themselves BLack Sabbath, they called themselves Earth.

I was hoping some of you cats would have the live stuff these guys did.

About a year ago Vice had a hilarious article on how fucked up Earth is nowadays. Like you said Yak it's just the main guy & his wife and they spend their whole lives fucked up on heroin, scavenging shit from the sides of roads and playing terrible terrible shows that often end up in half the audience walking out... it also reveals that they pulled out of ATP due to missing their plane due to going to score heroin instead. Gully.

Anyway, yeah, stuff like this is funny and entertaining for about ten minutes, but I don't think I take enough drugs to appreciate it past that. Makes for good samples though.
