they were playing this japanese flick

FULL TIME KILLER

this movie was fucking awesome. i loved every second of it. basically it's about this guy touted as the number one assassin in japan and this other guy who wants the title blowing his spot and taking over assignments etc.

the cinematography owned. the action sequences were original and crisp. the ending was even pretty fucking cool.

anyone else seen it? if so, anyone know who the director is, if this director made any more similar good movies, etc.

fuck a imdb. just tryin to stimulate conversation

Real good movie, crazy they're playing this type of shit on IFC now

Directed by Johnny To, one of the best Hong Kong directors, much more consistent and prolific than John Woo.

imdb: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0864775/

His other movies to check out:

- The big heat - hard to find, but worth it. One of the few action flicks that can stand up to Hard Boiled and the Killer
- The Mission
- Running out of time
- Breaking news
- Election - more drama than action
- PTU

Also good:

- Barefoot Kid - the only traditional kung-fu movie he ever made, very slept on

- Heroic Trio/The executioners - a crazy mix of comic book/fantasy/martial arts/gunfights, very entertaining, heroic trio is the better one of the two

DO NOT GET "A HERO NEVER DIES", it's the only terrible movie i've ever seen from this guy

I saw it, thought it was pretty dope. Can't remember though...Isn't Any Lau in this?

Some really surreal/bad ass moments.

Was not impressed at all by this movie, though I wanted to like it.
