I'm a huge Death Note fan, especially of the character of L, and caught this at the NY Asian Film festival a couple weeks ago...
And it was god awful! Just a complete disappointment. It's strayed very far away from the comic/anime only to instead deliver a hackneyed, barely comprehensible disease-outbreak story. Just trash beginning to end, nothing more than a cash-in on a popular character.
But that actor is still good as L, he does his best with the shit they give him to work with.
