Is there a randomized generator in the deep under belly of hong kong that comes up with this shit? I can picture Tsui Hark making a pilgrimage to some dank basement under a completely innocuous looking dim sum stand, and feeding an old rusty machine with chains and spikes a bunch of punch cards with words like "kill", "assasin", "impact", "fatal", "deadly", etc. Some kind of midget on a chain then cranks the wheel on demand and thus a title of the new kung fu extravaganza is born.

allegedly this is the uncut, cleaned up wide screen version with the og credit sequence, which makes all previous versions look crippled by comparison (couldn't help myself there)

I will say if they somehow had a hand in cleaning this up or finding the original title sequence you mentioned, then it's a different story

i haven't heard dick about an official release, maybe the dude who runs fareastflix or one of that whole kungfu trader nerd cabal restored it and panmedia bootleged their copy

i'm disillusioned with waiting for official releases, preordered Return of The Deadly blade months ago (it's that good), the order got cancelled without an explanation a week before it was supposed to ship

what bugs me is that the trailer shows a lot of action, but it all seems to be from the same 2 or 3 fights. it would be dissapointing if this shit ended up like SPL or Flash Point, 1 hr of pointless plot followed by 30 mins of action. i would prefer an even distribution of asskicking throughout.

as far as the choreography itself, judging by this trailer and some of the work from this previous effort Fatal Contact, he seems to have the 3-4 people simultaneous combo hits on lock. which is really dope, and speaks highly to the caliber of the stunt men he's working with
