The Nas Thread

Post by Lyrical Gymnastics »

http://www.zshare.net/audio/1452495732c070b1/ - Breathe

Nas is leaking too many tracks in my opinion..this track is better than the other tracks though..

EDITED BY B. WARE - There are wayyy too many Nas threads going on, I know Paragraph Pres tried to instate this months ago, but it didn't take. I will be :lock:-ing future Nas threads, please keep your posts confined to this thread only. Feel free to post any and everything related to Untitled, The Nigger Tape, interviews, etc in here too.

By the way in a :naswtf: move from :naswtf:, the dude who has ducked endorsements for years, has decided to ink a deal with Fila. Reportedly they'll match his promotion budget from Def Jam dollar for dollar in exchange for him co-signing and wearing an 80's throwback series of Fila's.

Here's his reasoning:
ג€œMy best friend Will and I loved Fila,ג€ Nas tells Billboard. ג€œIt represented prestige and everything that was cool to us. When Will passed, we buried him in a black Fila sweat suit, so doing a deal with them has a lot of significance for me"

That is, assuming that he is the one authorizing the leaks. "Fried Chicken" is dope.

Yeah he should push it back and record some more tracks. There is a little buzz but it's not that good.

LOL, yeah there's only about 4-5 songs that haven't leaked yet. Shit's absurd.

Some of the singles that leaked are cool, but no beat has got me :ohsh: and that unfortunate because it means no matter how good the track it'll never mean shit to me.

^ I agree with that with the exception of that DJ Khalil beat he was demonstrating while promoting his new :reason: software. That was really good, no idea if made the album though.

What bugs me the most though, is Nas can opt for a great beat like last year's Surviving The Times and churn out some great verses to match that beat and yet he still makes awful filler material given the lengthy amount of time to rectify this situation.

I think this shit is about to spring a leak. There's too much stuff coming out today, very reminiscent of how Weezy's record leaked.

Really? Not even The Slave and The Master? Because that track is so fresh in my opinion.

Haven't heard it but ONE really dope beat doesn't excuse an album of bland beats.

Well I've heard 2, (If I'm really anticipating an album I won't listen to more than 2 leaked tracks) Hero and The Slave and The Master, and I like both tracks a lot.

So from this point on I'll be ignoring all of your posts about the Nas record to keep me from losing faith.

I'm really looking forward to that Nas & Game collab produced by Cool & Dre. If you really want a banger beat for your album, this should be it.

The Game has a great ear for beats (rapping, not so much, but still) and Cool & Dre are excellent producers to achieve such thing.

I'm worried about this album too, way too many leaks past few days. How's that even possible? Does this mean one of the people around Nas put them out or something?

Shit will be forgotten in two weeks probably. Just like everybody was enjoying that Green Lantern tape, and I even saw some bloggers claiming it was >>> Carter III. Yeah, right, what are people bumping more now?

I'm still jamming the GL tape. It'll probably end up being more memorable than the album.

Definitely agree with the ":larry: @ 'Esco Let's Go' not making the album" sentiment.
