Pick your favorite LP #5 (1989)
T.R.O.Y.'s 1st "Pick your" thread. '88 was too difficult, so I went with '89 here. Yet another amazing year for hip-hop.

I was only 9 in '89, and thus really didn't get a chance to listen to these albums in their original context. I've since gone back and bought all of these except Chill Rob G and The Cactus album.
I went with De La though.

Can everyone at least agree that the cover for 3 Feet High and Rising is pretty damn gay?

Not gay, but certainly not all that it's cracked up to be. Again, I only one of the few who thought "Buhloone" was better than "De La Is Dead." I just thought that album was filled with too much and too many skits.Cleanhobo wrote: Can everyone at least agree that the cover for 3 Feet High and Rising is pretty damn gay?

I hate 99 to 100% of skits. I buy music cds for music. I don't wanna hear any bullshit about 'cohesiveness and blending the songs together,' or 'but some skits are funny as all hell' either.PhilaFlava wrote:Not gay, but certainly not all that it's cracked up to be. Plus, even if I do laugh a few times from a hilarious skit, I'm still guaranteed not to give a fuck about it in a month or so.
