RIP Eyedea

Had the opportunity to do a show with E&A late last year. Briefly talked to him, had no idea it'd be the last time. He was a good dude.

Agree with Dids on this. Shit is sad because he was just 29 years old. I read just a month away from 30 too. Obviously this is unexpected so it raises doubts. He was a public figure so naturally people are going to be curious as to what happened but it's not fair to throw out assumptions either.Dids wrote:When somebody who isn't old/in bad health dies unexpectedly- there's going to be questions, and the more people in the know say shit like this it only raises suspicion. Obviously this is way tragic. Dude was super talented.

RIP Eyedea. I heard it was a heroin overdose. The only reason I know this is because the friend that sent me a text is a heroin addict (been clean for years), but yeah, he would probably know.
If I am wrong then my bad but I didn't post that to slander anyone, more less to educate.
It is terrible that he died so young. I fucking hate drugs! They will ruin your fucking life!
He was a dope rapper. RIP

guys. this is a tragic painful loss. Let's at least have due process before we speculate. we're all grown men, we all know which one of our homies uses drugs regularly and who doesn't. regardles....its not the right time to have that discussion. known drug users don't typically die so young so let's refrain from throwin the words OD aroundPhilaflava wrote:Agree with Dids on this. I just read this on Facebook. I'm complete shocked and very saddened.
I'm happy to say I've had the pleasure of seeing Eyedea perform a countless number of times with mny different people. He was definitely the best freestyler I have ever seen live--in fact, I thought his live performances were extremely, much more impressive than his recorded work (not that that was horrible either).
I remember when I first got "First Born" too. I was in the hospital after getting hit by a car going 60 mph, and my mom told me she would bring me anything I wanted. And I said "I want "First Born" by eyedea and abilities" (apparently, since I really don't remember a lot from that time in my life, due to the major concussion and tons of morphine being pumped into me). I remember listening to it all fucked up in the hospital... kind of weird.
RIP Eyedea.

nobody knows if one thing has anything to do with another. the human body is an amazing thing that can take tremendous amounts of abuse, adapt, and operate for decades. In high school we had a buddy die of a brain aneurism when we were in a lake swimming. at the time i didnt even know what an aneurism wasTexas Raised Mikey wrote:It is important.

This is very sad. People need to educate themselves though and not run from the truth.

this is not a punchline. eyedea seemed like a guy who was dealing with a lot of hard stuff. this is a tragic turn of events. let's try to show some compassion to someone who gave a lot to us and the music and culture we are supposed to love.
really regretting that i missed his most of his last concert in Toronto and only saw his last song. who knew it would be the last time to shake hands and say peace...
peace to eyedea. you'll remain an eternal example of great artistry. thanks for the incredible rhymes, man. the world's a better place because you shared your gifts, one love
