People have been speculating about this forever. Almost like they planned it all along.

Even though its been confirmed by everyone involved I'm still having a hard time accepting that its real and that they won't somehow destroy its legacy by bringing it back.
Although Lynch is set to direct all 9 episodes which is great news

If this ends up being good, this will be the greatest thing ever. Trying to keep expectations low.

‘Twin Peaks’ Revival to Air on Showtime in 2016

“Twin Peaks,” the ABC series that was a forerunner of today’s offbeat serialized cable dramas, is coming back to life with nine new episodes to air on Showtime in 2016.

Series creators David Lynch and Mark Frost are working away on the scripts, with Lynch planning to direct all nine episodes. The episodes are expected to bow in early 2016, which would coincide with the 25th anniversary of the show’s demise after two seasons on ABC in 1990 and 1991.

Considering how much of the cast agreed to reunite for that Psych episode, I'd assume almost everyone will be down to come back.

I've never watched the original series. Is there anything that it is comparable to so I can a frame of reference to see whether I might be interested or not?

Bad news for Twin Peaks fans: After the shocking announcement that the show would return in 2016 on Showtime for a third season after 25 years off the air, it seems production on the new season has hit a significant snag. Speaking at an exhibition in Australia, David Lynch expressed some concerns that we might not get the nine new episodes he promised, citing "complications" as the reason for the delay. He told an Australian ABC News outlet that he's "still working on a contract" with Showtime that hasn't been ironed out yet. "But I love the world of Twin Peaks, and I love those characters. I think it will be very special to go back into that world," he added.

My excitement level severely dropped. Would not be surprised if this show is canned before production even starts.

Just saw this. I hope they kill the show now. I'm also curious as to what the rights to the show are now. I wonder if Showtime owns it now, which it sounds like they do, and it kills any chance of Lynch ever being able to work on the show again at a different network.

If Frost is still down, I say lets go. I'm sure the actors involved could all use the payday.

Never mind how ‘cool’ Twin Peaks is, what about taking it seriously?
The hipster appropriation of this great series makes me uneasy. David Lynch portrayed a world of abuse and sexual murder of young women that is all too real
Whether to Jason of Philaflava or John Podesta, I will speak my fucking perspective openly

Warning: the below opinion will probably get me nominated for the Dirt award

Due to the high praise here i decided to finally begin watching this show. I'm almost done with the 1st season and its kinda crappy to be honest. It almost feels like a very hokey True Detective to me. Everything about this show feels very dated and cheesy. The music in this show is probably my biggest gripe, its the same shitty melodies repeating over and over. Does it drastically change or improve in S2? I'm thinking of dropping it.
