"'Iron Man' Composer Beats Ghostface in Copyright Lawsuit"

A three-year-old copyright infringement lawsuit brought by composer Jack Urbont against rapper Ghostface Killah has taken an unusual turn with a New York judge entering a default judgment in favor of the plaintiff. As a result, the case might now be set to explore an issue that should draw tremendous interest in the music industry. ...

If Urbont gets a big figure, it's a good possibility that he will attempt to collect by seeking a lien on Ghostface's share of Wu-Tang Clan royalties.

Ghostface couldn't be reached for comment, but he did offer this colorful comment in 2012 about who he believed was suing him: “I think it’s an old man. I think they woke this dude up or something. He ain’t Stan Lee or anything but I guess he’s somebody because he ain’t stopping. It’s like, [why] you coming to me? Go to Sony man, don’t come at me. But that’s what it is. This, this is the game, man. Everybody out for they bread, whatever they could see, they tryna get it.”

Between shit like this and Epic Records finding whatever they can on the internet to sue for, its a welcoming into the new age of the music industry. Nothing but lawsuits and claims on copyright infringements.

Holy fuuuuuk... NEW  looks incredible on paper:

1. The Battlefield f. Kool G Rap, AZ & Tre Williams
2. Love Don’t Live Here No More f. Kandace Springs
3. Here I Go Again f. AZ & Rell
4. Loyalty f. Kool G Rap & Nems
5. It’s A Thin Line Between Love And Hate (The Revelations)
6. The Dog’s Of War f. Shawn Wigs & Kool G Rap
7. Emergency Procedure f. Pharoahe Monch
8. Double Cross f. AZ
9. Bamboo’s Lament f. Kandace Springs
10. Pieces Of The Puzzle f. AZ
11. Homicide f. Nems & Shawn Wigs
12. Blood In The Streets f. AZ
13. Call My Name
14. I Love You For All Seasons (The Revelations)

I'll stand some Wigs for all that AZ, G Rap, Monch etc, as well as Lil Fame, 45 King and Revelations production.

Hahaha, somebody remind Ghostface he already did a song called "Dogs of War."

It was the best song on Fishscale and a severely underrated posse cut.

Just realized/processed that AZ is on 5 songs. Wow.
The sheer amount of guest spots and fact that several songs apparently don't include Ghost call to mind More Fish.

2 NEMS features too?

I'm in.

incredible that RZA & Ghostface thought that they could get away with this. i hope they get punished & fleeced to the fullest extent of the law.

the shit's obvious, though. surprised epic or sony didn't listen to it before dropping the album and think about the implications of the samples.
probably didn't think it would sell well. wonder how the dude got hipped to his sample? probably some kid or website.

then again the label let him get away with a sloppy tracklist on the cd back that wasn't even the real tracklisting. on two albums, at that.

Double Cross is pretty tight.

I used to be a huge Ghostface (& Wu-Tang) fan, but I haven't listened to any of their music in years. It all sounds different. A lot of it even sounds dated now (IMHO).

I have been spoiled by all the synthesizer beats & drug-addled raps that have been energetically pushed into my ear since 2011 (a la ASAP Mob, Danny Brown, OFWKGTA).
