i've read accounts that actually Nicholson had a hand in directing it, which theoretically wouldn't make it pure hellman. You do have a point though, it is a great movie (although i do still prefer the shooting). I'd put it in special features, Shatter too maybe just for the fuck of it That is pure...

Re: Ugly Betty - Great show or GREATEST SHOW?

She's so plucky. BTW, heterosexual males are rewarded for their participation in this show by some of the most glorious sets of tittays on prime time, including the gawd Salma Hayek (who went bra in one episode). Shout out to Hilda (Betty's sister), who is always lettin' em hang. I'll fess up. I lo...

He's balding and he does action movies, but I don't think he'll reach Bruce Willis status. Word. He isn't remotely close to Bruce Willis status, he has to at least make one great action film, which he hasn't yet. And I don't count Transporter, Crank, and those overrated Guy Ritchie films. I have no...

Also you should check out Mellville's Bob the Gambler , which is another awesome crime-drama. It's on Criterion. It was adquately remade by Neil Jordan as The Good Theif. As for the New Wave discussion, Melville is generally regarded as a precursor to the movement. As his films didn't necessarily fi...

Yeah, I saw it awhile back in the theaters. It's def worth seeing, great concept, the execution is a bit predictable, but its still a fun ride. Very Hitchockian from what I remember and seemed to be made on a budget of 2 bus tokens and a piece of lint.
