I could have sworn it was Lyor Cohen or Russel who began the Hammer rumor.

And a glorious thugged out hammerpantsed 6 months that was!Philaflava wrote:It wasn't a rumor. It happened but Hammer is a changed man and he isn't about to have any negative shit about him right now with the debut of his new series. At one point, Hammer was the most connected man in the rap game. He was a silent Suge with more connects and more $. At one time that is.

I'm guessing he means the most amount of expendable income + best working relationmship with Oakland-based stone cold killers for hire.the brow wrote:What do you mean by this exactly? I'm not debating it, just curious.Philaflava wrote:At one point, Hammer was the most connected man in the rap game.

Pretty much what Thun said. He had the greatest cover-up because he was a darling pop sensation and yet he had the coldest killers on his payroll. Nobody talked shit about Hammer, especially about his "mama."the brow wrote:What do you mean by this exactly? Not sure if the search function would work but I know I've posted about the stories Davey D and I shared regarding Hammer. The amount of money he made after the U Can't Touch This shit was in-fucking-sane.

Had a conversation with someone at a party tonight who echoed Thun's sentiments by stating MC Hammer = Jebidiah Springfield.

Actually you're wrong. hiffop is the pure 4 elementz essence distilled from the funk of Kul Lurk's left-nut sweat. Rap is pop.J-Serious wrote:If you dont get it now, you never willALASKA wrote:rap is pop.J-Serious wrote:Rap is not pop, if you call it that then stop.

I understand all that, but Hammer is being cocky about it on here and saying how his sales make him more important than Serch.Philaflava wrote:It wasn't a rumor. He's not acting like a changed man on here. In the past years, I've respected him, but not here.
He seems to be trying to live off of his past thug associations.
We all know Serch did a hell of alot more for hip hop than Hammer.
I mean getting talent out there wise.

Nobody gets the tip refrence?
RUN DMC was rolling with Serch on this one. They were watching dance music take over rap.... I hated Hammer while going out to trendy night clubs anyway. He was dope live. I seen him with Troop once too.
He's corny.. but he's talanted.. Any of you watching his show... It's a trainwreck.. He and Vanilla Ice are all buddy buddy... I hatd that corny shit back then now it's nostalgia and I wish the wack shit now was maybe more along this kind of wackness.

Oh yeah, my bad, that's as far as his contributions go.lj wrote:word!Verge wrote: We all know Serch did a hell of alot more for hip hop than Hammer.

he did that great white rapper show.
Serch has done absolutely nothing else.
He didn't executive produce "Illmatic".
Zev Love X did not make his first appearance on "The Gasface".
My bad,
Hammer>>>>>>>>>>>Serch
because Hammer can dance and sell records.
And, not for nothing, I usually don't have much nice to say about Serch
because of rumors I always heard about him ripping artists off and selling dreams and what not.
