-from L.A., down with the hundreds

extremely monotone word for word flow
cool kids kick snare beats with warp bass
sometimes kind of fly sometimes sleep inducing

get a nice fade, line up in the front
if i'm in the club theres a line up in the front

etc

More or less everything said so far is true, overall dude is nice and has his own sound. He makes good music that appeals to the 20 something demographic. Listen for your self.

I agree with what's been said also. Not really a fan, but he's doin his thang for the non-affiliate LA scene that's not pushin a gangsta line. Good for him.

i like the dude, he has successfully made you feel like your in L.A everytime you hear the tracks. Not only that beats are very dope. "OF All Time" is classic as fuck. The flow does get monotonous but he's just simple and plain, negga not tryna fool nobody. Im cool with dom

Bumping this up.

I wanted to know if people are into this dude at all? Seems like his "swagger" and ear for beats would be popular around here, but his live show/monotone flow might be a turn off as well.

Who likes and does this dude have a chance to ever make it in your opinion?

I think he's dope. His latest video is great, imo. If he can keep delivering songs like this, he'll have my attention.

Yea, I dig him a lot. All his mix tapes have been really good, but he's pretty one dimensional. At least he does it well. Watermelon Sundae is still the jam.

Yeah he's not going to wow or surprise.

Why don't people rap in groups anymore? There are tons of artists like this who are good but not great but could really shine if they regularly shared mic time with like minded artists.

New Millennium Egos. The generation after this won't even be able to stand rapping by themselves.

He's down with my homie Polyester. L.A.U.S.D (LA Unified School District). Dope performer. Dope artist. Great beats. Keeps it simple. I kinda compare his rap style to Murs, but without the emo.

Dude's interview style is a lot like Pac's from back in the day, really sincere and kind of dramatic. I respect it.

I've hated on dude quite a bit in the past...mainly his same old flow and delivery on every song...but can't front I really liked a good deal of the songs on that Yellow Tape.

Dom Kennedy says he's been courted by Maybach Music Group and Interscope with offers.

Los Angeles upstart Dom Kennedy recently caught up with Q104.7's Rico and Mambo Morning Show to discuss his recent critically acclaimed project The Yellow Album. During the interview, the O.P.M. Recording emcee talked about going the independent route with his music and named a few offers he's received along the way.

Dom said that he never really put much effort into seeking out a record deal as opposed to making the kind of music he loved. Still, that doesn't mean that people in the industry haven't come knocking; Dom revealed he's been courted by Maybach Music Group and Interscope with offers, but he has a specific number in mind that needs to be met before he says yes to anyone.

"I'm having fun to be honest with you, and it's funny that when you just have fun and you do it 'cus you love it, that's when everything comes [with label offers]," he said. "I didn't make 'My Type of Party' for anybody to really pay attention to or for radio stations to really play; I made [my music] because I really enjoyed itג€¦I don't want to be miserable and try to follow everybody; that'll drive you crazy. [Hearing my music on the radio], it's letting me know it's working."

He continued, "It's all true [that I've been courted by MMG and Interscope] - at this point, any company that you can think of has hit us up or has an offer on the table. Obviously, it's not the right oneג€¦we definitely talking numbers. That's the whole conversation. [I'm thinking] $2 million. And they don't even got that, but you can ask for it, all they can say is no. [But] if you call with $2 million, we could probably shake hands."
