love that millions questions beat but og city of god is better. has a more laid back nostalgic feel to it.

same with omega but in that case the remake is harder. also has a more polished second take on the verse.

It would be dope for AZ to do a collab project with just someone like Pete Rock or DJ Premier, but lets face it....AZ sounds good even over smooth production where the drums don't sound like chopped up breaks. A wrong choice of those smooth beats? More than likely. Its just a damn shame he's underrated on a more commercial level.

az doesn't even need drums, just get that hiphop violin chick to a play breezy arpeggio and it's a wrap. that or some of that careless whisper saxamophone

Lest we also not forget how good AZ sounded over southern beats; cases in point, Doe Or Die over N.O Joe's lush country-rap production and that Doo Wop 'tape freestyle which started with him rapping over How Ya Do Dat :

Thread is getting realer and realer... Another classic:

<object width="420" height="315"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/Pme7aNtYWJA?ve ... ram><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/Pme7aNtYWJA?version=3&hl=sv_SE" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="420" height="315" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>

Btw, when The Come Up came on the internet in early 05 it was fucking miraculous. Booming masterpiece by Premier and AZ sounded so fucking comfortable over it and then the video with all the birds flying around, I remember that whole time period like it was a fucking high. Anyway it was called Untitled at first and had that jadakiss "PREMIER" all over the chorus... The final version seemed like it was missing something without it for a long time: http://www.mediafire.com/?xrsvpo19vbq0hk6

forgot that had a video. here it is

<object width="420" height="315"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/YIhxgeki3BQ?ve ... ram><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/YIhxgeki3BQ?version=3&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="420" height="315" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>

i like this better but it sounds like a more conventional premier beat than "the format" title track. after that i was expecting one per album. sorry to hear koch fucked up his hustle. maybe that's why he started dropping mixtapes.

is an album like the format really costing so much that they gotta castrate the studio process? i bought undeniable cold after the strength of the last two but i will not get burned again.

The Come Up is one of those tracks I cant see myself ever getting bored of.
He sounds better than Jay and 50 over the 'Show Me What Ya Got' and 'Ski Mask Way' beats aswell.

here's a few unreleased joints if you missed em...

Kool Keith: I wore a straw hat with a feather to the last Source Awards. When I got to Madison Square Garden everybody was looking at me. When I got back home I seen everybody and their mother in their video wearing a fuckinג€™ straw hat with a feather in it.

Tim Dog: ג€œWhat Kool Keith gonna wear? Iג€™m gonna do that shit in my video. Iג€™m gonna wear that shit really quick. Whatג€™s Tim Dog gonna wear?ג€

Looks like this is now a fine merlot/cashmere sweater/AZ adult contemporary raps appreciation thread.

Jadakiss & Styles 'Miss Jackson' and 'Problem Child' were the best 50 disses imo.
