no, it's not. i think he's trying to go for something different.

I like it so far. It's definitely different. Some of the beats are way too outside the box for me though.

This is a bad karaoke version of "Understatement"

Once upon a time (1992) you could count on a NBC sitcom star to at least do a good job when stealing a much better rapper's flow and style.

edit- I was referring to the schoolboy q song. didn't/won't listen to this

He still makes good songs. You just have to sift through 6-7 bad ones.

exactly. i had to give more of his stuff a chance when i was bored one day and i heard a song or two that was cool. he gets stuck in this 808/bounce/hipster/trap-rap pocket that sounds like he never wants to move from it.

Really creative. Much better than the real video.

And yeah, dude can rhyme but overall there's something off about him, on tracks and in interviews... By "REAL MC" standards he comes off as phony to me but gets a pass because I love him on Community.

Pretty much, when I first heard him I thought his voice was intolerable, but as I came into the Community fold I just imagine him as Troy rapping and from what I've seen in his videos with fan interaction(troy and abed spanish rap 2) he seems like a cool enough dude.

Nah.

what's with having features doing whole tracks? Does this happen often? Only other time I've heard that was on Carter 4.

Camp didn't have any guest rappers, I don't think it had any singers on it either.

It's odd, not only didn't Gambino rap on this track, he didn't even produce.

I hear Ghost mention Sheek from the Lox but there's no mention of CG, it's like he gangstred his way into the studio and added his own track onto this album.

no he does mention CG, around the 50sec mark

maybe we're not giving CG enough credit here - he's obv a wu fan, maybe he felt so reverent about Ghost's feature that he actually did exactly what you'd want him to do in this case, purposefully decided to not sully the gawd's bars with his own faggy presence

if only he did that for the TDE track and RZA track and the Danny Brown track, i'd probably have a lot more respect for him all around
