she's not bad looking in person at all, but comes off like the type of chick to who would lecture you about rape implications in invasions of personal space if you accidentally get in too close while saying hello

It's safe to say that she's the best female rapper still rapping, right? At least on some underground lyricist type shit. She can rap.

I agree.
This is part of the reason I was very disappointed in her BET Cypher showing. She's much better than that.

She's ranked number 8 in my imaginary baby's mama list.

You should check out THEESatisfaction if you haven't already. Couple of Seattle-based female rappers who're signed to SubPop and collaborate w/ Shabazz Palaces pretty regularly.
I'm not saying they're better than Jean, but they're dope. Their album aWe naturalE droped earlier this year.

and she even did a track about having an abortion, also.
i followed her on twitter for a while, but she just came off as being too smug.

Only other female emcees I see competing with her are Eternia, Invincible, and Rah Digga at this point. Other than that, I do agree.

If only there were a day that a female rapper was good enough that she would exit the canon of being just a female rapper.
As tolerable as Jean Grae is, she is not that rapper.

this is diffrent.
jean grae is an artist so she isnt tryin to be cookie cutter
that never came across to me
i like some of the music shes made, i dont know what shes tryin to say
with this one. she might have too much of the creative process on her with this one
she once did a track where she speaks from the pespective of a car being carjacked
big respect to anyone who can upload that one here.

listen 2
sounds like she channels both hov and em with the flow and style
the whole production is very strange , minimal
not feelin it.

I'd add T-Love, and Apani B-Fly to that list, though both are essentially retired. Not really fan of Rah Digga. The voice/flow anyway.
This track is dope. So much for Jean Grae's retirement. I knew that wouldn't last.
