Italian Horror Beat Battle (Rd. 2 - Album)

Post by ardamus »

The time has come for the battle to commence. But here are a few rules (updated 3/12/13).

1) There are three rounds. If you fail to not turn in a beat for your round, then you automatically get zero votes. You can still do your three rounds but every beat will have to be in by Monday at 11:59pm EST/8:59pm PST. A week from the day the samples go up or after the next round. If something came up and you're unable to submit your beat, hit me up on the PMs to let me know.

2) Whenever you export your beats, you must have them submitted in an MP3 format. I would say wav. files but they take up way too much space and we will need to consolidate as much as we can in these battles if we continue to do them.

3) If sign up for the battle late, you get zeros for the previous rounds you weren't in. This rule has been modified due to the time constraints of how the battle is run.

4) Remember how the rounds are set, too.
Round 1: Genre - at least three albums will be available for this round
Round 2: Album - just one album while you can select songs
Round 3: Song - a song from this genre everyone will use

5) All links come down after time its time to submit your beat for the first round at 11:59pm EST/8:59pm PST. So whether or not you're part of the battle, you should get it while you can. Doing this to avoid any copyright issues that may arise.

6) Submit all beats to pfsoundlab@gmail.com. Remember MP3 files only.

So now the moment you've been waiting for.

Is it too late to participate in the upcoming rounds? I know that goes against the stated rules, but I figure missing a round counts as a zero-vote showing, so there's no harm done.

my itunes has convert to mp3 but its an old vers that i don't update so i'm not sure if its on newer versions..

if you upload to soundcloud it converts it and then dl it..

ardy: do you want the mp3 attached directly to the email?

i said make mp3 because it saves up space for uploading. wav. and aiff files no matter what always take up more space. if you're having trouble, ayentee, let me know. i should say preferably mp3s.

the dead poet and Captin Planit, i'll change the rule only because i realize it'll be a minute before all 3 rounds are up and folks may not be able to participate. makes it harder on me because i have to track everyone's scores when their supposedly anonymous and we haven't gotten down everything concrete for the battles yet; even if it would count as you receiving a zero. so, go ahead and jump in.

Based on the last round, all of you are guaranteed to do a better job than what Necro did with this album.

Soundcloud works on minutes of audio uploaded not size of the files, so it doesn't really matter how big the files are if I remember correctly. MP3 would take a shorter time to upload though, I imagine that's what you're getting at.

Shit, you're right. I forgot thats how Soundcloud works. Regardless, even if you send it in email, it does take up space. WAVs sound clear but I hate having to download and upload the size :pause: of those files. Basically, I'll just say MP3s are much easier to handle.

Hopefully, if I can pull myself away from real work for a period of time, I'll make something that will monopolize all the votes.

This album is pretty garbage as far as sampling. Made three beats and I don't like any of 'em. THE SHOW MUST GO ON THOUGH.

I'll have mine in by tonight.
