Yeah basically. Theyre undeniably i unno, proficient? but BTs a rapping 2X4. Malik B shouldve been the lead, hed more charisma.

Then again I keep thinking Ill come back to them and enjoy them properly some day but even when I bumped IH & Things Fall Apart fairly regularly I had trouble paying attention. Peedi was the greatest thing about Game Theory by a mile for a reason.

The Roots are like the Dave Matthews Band of hip-hop. You either like them or you don't, there is little in between.

They're pretty much the same in and out with a diff theme and slightly edger beats, that is why many of their guest spots shine (Beanie, Jean Grae, Mos, Peedi). They're an amazing compliment band if that is even such a thing.

Or anything else by this clown. I'm not gonna sit here and say he doesn't infuriate the hell out of me, but it's not like I'm thinking of him everyday.

You literally said the whole entire catalog. I know, its you "schtick" :pause: but c'mon man........
Do I really have to dissect this? Common, as a rapper, was very good in the mid 90s. I just do not like him as a rapper or person today, which means, his music is very difficult to listen to.

I find him extremely unlikable as do most on here (so it seems). He just doesn't make music I care to listen to. His albums post Resurrection either failed miserably or have not aged well. I just don't need to hear him whine over Dilla beats or get all giddy over Pharrell tracks these days. I do not care.
Well you do care because you just typed two paragraphs about it in some form. Didn't ask you to dissect it. I just find it funny that you would make that claim to his entire catalog when I know at some point you fucked with some shit Common did before. But aiight....you hate him and his music now......

honestly, terrible beats all the way through on each of them, a handful of highlights that seem to justify his praise, then a bunch of average songs spread throughout

Anyone submitting that "One Day It'll All Make Sense" is a good album should really go back and check that out. Its pretty bad. There are good tracks, but its mostly a mess and it doesn't age well at all.

Resurrection was just that good of an album that this album didn't top it. Its not bad; its just the album before that one outshined it.

I disagree. One Day has about 5 or 6 good songs on it, and all of them are in the first half of the album. If Hungry was the last song on this, I'd feel differently. But everything after that is completely disposable, especially the Stolen Moments debacle with awful Canibus track stuffed in the middle.

:icedit: The shitty Canibus track comes after the Stolen Moments debacle. The shitty 1,2 Many song is in that place. Which is pretty perfect in terms of symbolism.

Originally, I was gonna say that the sequencing was part of the problem, too. Still feel the consistency as far as Resurrection did some damage beforehand.

The song with Canibus was like the false advertisement of what you thought Canibus would rap on from here on out, IMO.

That first verse on 1'2 Many is one of favorites from Com.
