i hope the show was cool, i saw a vine recording surface, but i didn't make it to austin, even though i got tix in advance.

i see he was using a laptop, he better be making more music on it.

apparently, he said at his show "I don't even use a DJ program, this is Windows Media Player".
dude loves being different.

I usually don't google image search for male rappers :killacam:

Nah, but I'm just surprised. I didn't realize his music was just a huge gimmick. I like it a lot none the less.

It's not a gimmick in the least... I mean unless you really thought he was really a drug-peddling practitioner of the dark arts and now all of sudden you don't.

Read some of his interviews. He seems to know what's up.

just seeing his facebook posts like these
https://www.facebook.com/permalink.php? ... 5628114892
https://www.facebook.com/permalink.php? ... 5628114892
https://www.facebook.com/permalink.php? ... 5628114892

you can tell that his music persona is totally different.
his facebook posts are very articulate and devoid of slang; the opposite of his ugly mane character.

He's not any different than most of the people I hang around. Hardcore guys who are way into death metal and southern rap. The only difference is that he put out a couple classics. All my friends that saw him at CIT tell me he said that was his last show.

There should be a "best white rapper" tournament after this worst one that MGK is about to win.

he claimed it was his last live show, which isn't a surprise, since in his interviews he says a) he isn't motivated by money b) he doesn't like doing live shows.
who knows if he'll ever do solo work again. he's crazy enough to just give it up.

and even in the past, in other endeavors, he's been quoted to enjoy "disappointing people"
http://changam.wordpress.com/2010/04/12 ... asement-3/
so, like i said, no surprise.

all his other art and music endeavors were far removed from anything the average fan of his or other artists' horror-based and trap productions styles,
i think the overall surprise was that considering his background, that putting out the style of rap songs he did was so easy for him to produce.
even the last track he did that felt like some east coast shit. he knows how to release dope music and disturbing and abrasive music. very few others
ever have.

i analyze dude way too much, i know.

If I'd decided to wear an Earth Crisis shirt to a performance I'd have called it a day too.

Having never heard them, I have no clue if that is a compliment or diss. I know he wore a white earth crisis t-shirt at the show. Not that black long sleeve. Saw it on twitter

since it doesn't look like anyone's making a Nickelus F thread, here's a new track by him that might have been produced by Shawn Kemp.
it says "Shawn Kemp was ill" on the artwork.

It doesn't sound like the usual Kemp affair, but then again his old Shawn Kemp bandcamp doesn't sound like Lil Ugly Mane tracks, either.

Dude's dropping one more mixtape and then calling it quits...
ok ok. respect your creativity. relax tho. just recorded a verse for denzel curry's new shit. as far as other shit goes; expect some production work with nickelus f and antwon, and a few various verses and beats with various homies. im not taking on new projects. im working on a FINAL mixtape. thats the deal. im done with shows, im done with hype. i just dont care at all about it. i made music in my room and shit was cool by accident. i appreciate all the kind words, i appreciate the negative. ugly mane is on life support. when the plug gets pulled...let him rest in piece. listen to mcs that want it. give them shine. they deserve it. also listen to john fahey and just relax with some smoke and some drink.

I guess it was inevitable. He's a smart guy, introverted, and I don't think anyone (labels, managers) knows better what to do with his music than he does. If he's to the point where he realizes and accepts that he dropped a classic and doesn't want to become a parody of himself or back away from his kind of peace punk ethos then I respect that. He kept it totally DIY, word of mouth and never dropped anything that wasn't quality. It had been a long time since an album snatched my ears up like Thug Isolation did. I look forward to what comes before he finally "pulls the plug" on Ugly Mane.
