Re: how hip-hop are you? (part 2 now added)
Part of it is the "are you hip-hop" framing, which kinda implies more essential knowledge than random facts. I mean I know I'm not hip-hop, but it's not for want of knowing the z-list members of the Roots crew and novelty tracks from the mid 90s.Philaflava wrote:this is hip-hop, not world events, isn't it all trivial shit?

there is nothing essential about hip-hop knowledge. either you have it or you don't. your scores kinda justify your opinions on the music.Dids wrote:Part of it is the "are you hip-hop" framing, which kinda implies more essential knowledge than random facts. Name all the members of Two-Illeven. Who was their producer?
Name all the members of Closed Caption. Who produced the majority of their albums?
It's all silly. But have fun with it!

10/20 on part 2 and i was definitely guessing on some stuff, like I figured Griffey would rap with a Seattle rapper that wasn't Mix-A-Lot.

I guessed Kellerman on the ESPN one off title alone, even though I thought he was a red herring. Turns out getting punched in the head for a living doesn't do one's penchant for puns any favors.sleazy_j wrote:11/20.
that supastition one was the easiest one to guess right.

Scored an 11/20 on the second round surprisingly, but I guessed on several. Second round was much harder.

Part 1: I got 14/20. Phife Dawg.
The ones I got wrong...
#8, I had no clue which NBA player never attempted to Rap.
#10, I said 75 Ark was the indie label that put out Dr. Octogan, but it was Bulk.
#12, I said Ras Kass & Coolio never collaborated, but they have twice.
#13, I said Cappadonna was not on Supreme Clientele.
#16, I said Kam & Erick Sermon had never collaborated, but they have twice.
#17, I had no clue who on ESPN had a 12-inch deal back in '94.
Part 2: I got 15/20. Phife Dawg.
The ones I got wrong...
#8, I said Del dropped the joint about video games, but it was Saafir.
#10, I had no clue what rappers were featured on the Eightball & MJG joint.
#11, I didn't know Pras produced a joint for Redman on Muddy Waters.
#12, I said Killah Priest was not on the Gravediggaz album, but it was Trugoy/Dove of De La Soul.
#19, I said Lord Sear first appeared on the Pete Nice & Daddy Rich album in '93, but it was Cage.

I love Wu-Tang (more in the 90s and less in the 2000s), but there's 9 of them so sometimes shit get's mixed up. *shrugs*Cockhead wrote:Wicked, you not a big Wu-tang guy? It seems like the Wu related questions gave you some trouble.
Speaking of, they were on The Daily Show with John Stewart the other night... all 9 of them!

Well if there is one thing the tests prove, is that Wicked isn't as hip-hop you think. In fact, some of you are fucking Grandmaster Flash to his DJ Scratch.
