This is like the pot calling the kettle a shitty white rapper though. El's might not be a top 50 emcee like ZDLR, but he's far from bad. Dude's bars/delivery are on point.
Thoughts after my first listen; good album, nowhere near as good as the first one.

I'm not a rapper, bro. He's a good producer, but especially next to a gifted rapper like Mike he comes off as slightly retarded, that's all I'm saying.

Seeing her name on the track list was a pleasant surprise. Too bad Boots wasn't who I thought it was.hellriser wrote:gangsta boo is great on love again

Truth be told, I'm just a huge Mike fan. Always have been. Most people sound bad next to him. El's not terrible. I've always been a big fan of his beats.Rob Sonic wrote:I think el is dope on this shit, but he's always been one of my favorite rappers so everyone can just tell me to shut my big fucking mouth now.

Nah I hear you, Mike been in no prisoner mode, especially since R.A.P Music, but neither of them are bullshitting here though. IMHOCleanhobo wrote:Truth be told, I'm just a huge Mike fan. You guys are boys. I get it. You're better than he is. Are you guys touring together? They come to San Diego November 11th. I'm not touring with them, but that tour looks SAF. I'll go watch it some where I'm pretty sure.

Re: Killer Mike and El-P
i'm liking this more than the OG rn. there's more depth here than just bragging & boasting. production is incredible. i find myself longing to listen to the album again. crown is my fav joint lyrically (nh) but other tracks knock harder. love again is beat is sick. breakdown when gangsta boo comes in.
^^i don't wanna keep harping on about el-p's vocals but heeere we go. it's not like he can't rap. he knows how to ride the beat & on one of the first few tracks in particular there's a part where he's really murkin it. but tbh he is first and foremost a producer and not a vocalist. he lacks personality and i find his writing style dense and contrived. but hey i'm also one of those guys who wished kanye would stay behind the boards so what do i know.

I think they complement each other really well, and the album would be a lot less good if it was just one or the other instead of the two.
Also, I'm getting pretty fucking sick of Despot killing everything he's on and still not having an album after all these years. You're good at raps, dick, so do it a bunch and let me give you money for it.

I don't think, from my own experience, that this was the case at large. If I am sheltered, lame, and wrong, well, okay.

Nas stopped by the listening session in NY and played a new joint he did called The Season over Dilla's Gobstopper. Shit sounds crazy

Re: Killer Mike and El-P
i reallly really wish they would have stripped down zachs repeat background vocals during that track, it takes away from the beat and verses, having it on through the entire song is way too much
