Extremely overrated album.
Reasonable Doubt, however...now that's classic.

i guess jay hit a certain note on Blueprint 1, but really this note is on most of his albums, and some of the other albums songs do it better, was it the time it was released, was it mostly the production, was it the nas war, was it the album cover, haha
i'll go with the production combined with nas war, lyric wise jay has been doing his thing throughout his whole catalog , even the new stuff.
i think when he drops "classics" its due to him sticking with a production that fits him better, sure he can flow insanely over pop beats or whatever, but its when his production actually matches his lyrics and stories when people feel him the most
as whole albums reasonable doubt, blueprint, and the black album, fit his style just right, sure other albums are great, really good and are others favorites over the 3 i mentioned, but those 3 carry The Emcee Jay-z with a pretty consistent whole entire album flow that fits

vol3 is also a personal favorite, but sounds more like a high quality mixtape
Dynasty was a favorite at the time, i'll revisit
Kingdom Come is highly under rated , but not a classic
vol 2 is THE jay-z album that made his pop career, and its a slick album in all ways but again feels like a super mixtape than an actual "album"
vol 1 same thing sorta but was B.I.G.'s shadow at the time, Vol 2 took it to the next level in the best way
vol 3 brought back the raw

I love The Blueprint, but what kinda Classic are we talkin? HipHop Classic? Nope. Mainstream/Commercial Rap Album Classic? Yes, easily.
Jay-Z does not have a HipHop Classic unfortunately. Sad, but true.
