Also what kind of tournament do you guys think we should come up with next? This one will have polls to encourage more participation and it'll also have prizes. Before we go ahead and do a sign-up thread, I figure we can use this thread to get a general idea of what it's going to be. Poetry, key-styles, rhymes, free-for-all? What should the next one be about? Any feedback ya'll can lend would be helpful.

I think the next one should be more of a key-style battle. Those are always the most popular threads in this joint, plent of folk will sign up. As far as prizes, I don't know, I got plenty of mp3's I could send someone, I have the entire the Tick animated collection on VCD that I would be willing to put up and I have access to the first season of the Venture Bros. I could put on DVD. Maybe we should coordinate with some folks from the soundlab and the winner will get whatever beat is offered up. Just some ideas.

A keystyle battle would be dope. That was the last thing I organized before the fall of HHI. Unfortunately, it never came to fruition.

:FU: :cgraves:

The way I set it up if you remember was each person PMs their text and both are posted together. But a keystyle in the true sense would have to be on a respond/react steez. You could have each man battle it out over 2 or 3 verses.

Yeah. The respond/react part will definitely be the toughest part. We could just have the people PM their inital verses in, and then we could post the thread, and they could respond from there, and not vote until they've gone back and forth. And the poll wouldn't be posted until the battle was over.

Also, BeHemoth, those are some tight prize ideas. I was thinking something like a $50 gift certificate to hiphopsite.com or sandboxautomatic.com... but there would need to be massive participation to get something like that going.

But key-style battle is what ya'll wanna do? Any other ideas?

Mario taught me how to move bricks//
metroid taught me not to underestimate chicks//
My boy link taught me the value of a rupel//
Excite bike was the shit, ridin in the red i had scrupels//

Skating taught me balance when on adventure island//
All games taught me about life and how its devistating dying//
Mario 2 made me want to eat my vegetables//
I was the shit at toobin' gettin honeys on my testicle//

This was the true school 8 bit era before the luxury of save//
so i learned about hard work, gaming back in the golden age//
I learned how to focus and be diligent on my quest//
Games were my teacher and educator until the 8 bit was laid to rest

Actually for a key-style I was thinking 1st person goes, then the 2nd, then the 2nd goes and back to the first, that way each person gets a chance to respond because otherwise the advantage would lay with whomever goes second.

I would like to go on record as saying this is a bad idea. The offers I'm makin are more or less free for me, aside from postage and the few cents it takes for the blank cd/dvd. Throwin down cash is another thing.

No Love (audio included)

Post by Cash Rulz »

I got tin man tendencies
Making me stiff
Numb to the feeling she's giving me
There was a time I was about chivalry, but eventually
My nights would prove that it just wasn't meant to be
So full of love but she emptied me...
Drained
Devoid of every good feeling, but got enough pain to go around
They say hold your head well I hold it down
Right along with this bottle of Crown to help it drown
These thoughts
And I'm in need of fluid
Wanna cry, but I can't do it and can't believe I'm talking 'bout it now
You know its tough, black men can't open up
Or show how some girl had that much control over us
Had us wildin' out and throwin' stuff
Every other minute gotta go and puff an L to help us forget
That's how other men dealt with they shit...
Reliance on a substance, dealin' with the hurtin' in silence
Either that or we resortin' to violence, or stalkin'
But we ain't talkin' about the thought's of regret our mind gets
Cause other find its a sign of weakness, defined as sheepish
Confusion slips in and you don't have time to think its
Hard
But after the dirty wishes, and "dirty bitches"
The hurtin' gets it hold and starts workin' in its
Plan
To fuck with you mentally
"I hate what she did to me....Damn what could I've done differently"
And it keeps you pumpin'
"Was she unhappy or something, I mean why I ain't see it comin'"
And your friends can't attest to the stress
Cause its the same advice "Nothing gets you over the ex like the next"
Not knowin' that your motives' alterior
Hittin' familiar spots cause you hopin you seein' her
But what you gonna do when you finally discover her
And there she is smiling with some other dude huggin' her
And she makes that face that means she likes how you rubbin' her
And you having thoughts about him runnin' up in her
Now the drink lost its taste, and you lost in space
And all you see is your bud light across his face
Then you grab her by the hair
Pull her out the club screaming
"This was our spot how the fuck you gonna bring him here"
But your mind comes back, guess the slut don't really care
They lied, in war and love its seems nothings really fair
Now you hollowed and empty
But black men can't talk about that, we'll choke before our pride is swallowed so quickly
Unfortunately,
This path followed is risky
Cause therapy comes in the form of a bottle of whiskey
And I live with it discreetly
Thinking no chick'll ever break my heart again I'll get rid of it completely
Right now
My life's a blur as I fight the words
Of calling and asking for one night to stir
Up feelings
Not thinking about what might occur
I just wanna know the peace and love that my life deserves
From my time with her, but that plights disturbed
Consumed with the thoughts of taking my life or hers
But I gotta front it, be strong for the rest
Feelings unconfronted, and just move on to the next

That's the hurt.....

here's the audio if you wondering how its done

NO LOVE AUDIO

I have no idea...it was never specified. Nowell just announced the winner would be hooked up with some "goodies". When the tourney went down, I want to say Phila was going through all that hacker/board member shit and I didn't want to be asking for shit and be a bother or whatever.

A prize would be dope...but I'd really over all, just like a keepsake for winning or something.

But prizes would be good too.
