that beat kinda sucks but it's perfect for danny brown's annoying ass voice
doom is just lost in it

i feel like the mix is more the issue with doom. I don't mind this shit though. It's like circus music.

I was wondering about the mix, vocals seem reeaallly low.
Shit heavily reminds me of this which is not a good look

The hardest song to finish on Wildflower, say the Avalanches, was Frankie Sinatra. “That got mixed for about two and a half years,” they say. How many mixes? “Over a hundred.”

2.5 years and they couldn't figure out vocal levels? GTFOH.

Did Doom rap his verse to a different beat? This sounds all sorts of fucked up. And for a guy who seems pretty self-aware and ahead of the curve, not sure why Danny keeps dropping these forgettable, bordering on annoying guest verses.

Danny got on this because he knows how big the hype is for this record coming out after 15 years

Ah! This is where everyone is. I posted in the rick rubin thread wondering why it was so quiet.
That this is the first single is quite confusing. However, I also felt that "Frontier Psychiatrist" was out of place rhythmically with the rest of Since I Left You, wondering how a whole album could possibly sound like it's lead single (at least here in the states) Perhaps this one is going for the same effect?

He's also referenced The Avalanches as a favorite a number of times.
Your "Stanny For Danny" of your man is creeeeeeeepy, though.

While I’m excited to hear new material, I don’t really think there is a difference between KMD and DOOM at this point. He is probably marketing this as KMD for either contractual obligations or just marketing period. It's as if Q-Tip’s next solo album is titled an ATCQ album. DOOM is DOOM and this is just another DOOM track featuring Jay Electronica. This first KMD track 25 year shit is cute.

would be amazing if he really had some good stuff from the vaults but it's probably just as you said, marketing

Supposedly there are 2 or 3 unreleased Subroc tracks. The DWG guys heard snippets of them and were down to release them but couldn't strike a deal with DOOM.
