he's not overdramatizing his life & the video reinforces that. the lyrics are about being a middle to lower middle class high school dropout from a single parent home & becoming a millionaire strictly through hardwork, talent & dedication. the reason you think the raps are wack is b/c he may or may not have worked a minimum wage job at a drug store in canada pre-recession ?

There have been talks of an official remix to Drake's "Started From the Bottom" in the works. What's been going around on the Internet is that the song will feature Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, Wiz Khalifa and Riff Raff. The latest addition is Kanye West, which will pretty much solidify the epic line up.
There hasn't been word on if any of this is true or not. But, this "Started From the Bottom (Remix)" could very well triumph all the other ones.

There WAS beef when Future wanted Drake for the 'Tony Montana' video and Drizzy sent a tweet that was something like "give n!ggas a steak and they want you to cook it for them too" or something to that effect. Plus that other Drake verse seems like it was recorded long ago or around the first verse, like Future got Drake when he was "cheaper", LOL.

That being said, I heard another interpretation that's even more interesting and possibly true.
Some people keep saying Drake and the Weeknd had a falling out cause the Weeknd didn't sign to Octobers Very Own. And say that the "fuck a fake friend/ where your real friends at" of 'Started from the Bottom' and the two lines before "some nobodies started feelin themself" was also directed at the Weeknd, cause the three lines before it are revealing: "got us watching our words like theres wiretaps on the team/ cause I show love, never get the same outta n!ggas/ I guess it's funny how money could make change outta n!ggas..."

It could apply to the Weeknd who hasn't made music with Drake in a minute...
