How is that strange? Both of Doom's previous albums have had tracks that he doesn't rap on.

It's alright. Most similar to Madvillian on first listen.

He's not on Stones Throw for this one, so the brigade won't be out yanking all of the links, I'm listening after the Reks-More Grey Hairs

Yeah, quality-wise I'd say it's pretty much what I expected, his worst release under the DOOM moniker to date for me, though still pretty good. I've learned that Dumile is an ever evolving creature, so I didn't know what exactly to expect as far as the specifics of the production and the overall song structures/arrangements, but I do find it interesting that it is so Madlib-esque (a la Madvillain). I mean, I guess DOOM and Madlib are fairly similar when it comes to producing strictly hip-hop tracks, finding lesser known songs from which to sample large chunks, but it seems as though he's been doing a fair amount of digging With Madlib, some of these loops would fool into thinking I was listening to Madvillainy 2.

you can definitely tell who is and who isnt a DOOM fan by comments online; i saw a cat bemoaning the fact that the songs arent more than 2 min. long on another message board
