STRONG ARM STEADY & MADLIB

Post by Random Sample »

Stones Throw wrote:Madlib has produced an album for Los Angeles rappers Strong Arm Steady (Krondon & Phil Da Agony) which is being completed this week. The album will be titled "Stoney Jackson" and features Talib Kweli, Phonte, Planet Asia, and Oh No among others. We'll have a full announcement for this record and a digital pre-release coming soon.

Madlib is also working on an album with Guilty Simpson titled "OJ Simpson" which will be released later, after the Strong Arm Steady collab. These two albums are the newest in a long line of Madlib hip-hop collab/production, including Madvillain, Jaylib and Quasimoto.

Don't really like the rappers in Strong Arm minus Mitchy who I don't even think is really on this album.

I don't really mind Krondon or Phil, all they need is some bangin' beats to sound decent lol. Hopefully Madlib can provide, but he should be droppin that Guilty album first.

Why not 2007? 'Lib did a collab album with Talib Kweli, who is a pretty close affiliate of Strong Arm Steady.

no love for Krondon and Phil?? I'll admit they've fallen off a lil' bit since the early 2K, but damn, they still make some good music...they're beat selection is good too...

Mitchy not being around for a lot of stuff does take away a bit, he's that hardcore west coast MC that remind me of like a new age MC Eiht....even got that crazy west coast accent, lol....

I'm lookin forward to this album man.....hopefully it's not as slept on as that "Liberation" joint Madlib did with Talib, that shit was nice....Lib usually does well when he collaborates with people man....

IF U LIKE THE SLICKSTER'S MUSIC, WITHIN THE NEXT MONTH OR SO HE SHOULD BE RELEASIN A COMPILATION CALLED "YELLOW TAPE" FEATURIN HIS WRONGKIND RECORDS ARTISTS. UNDAGROUND DAYGO HEAT.

Not really a fan. I don't think Phil Da Agoy was ever on to actually fall off. Krondon is okay but imagine a tough talking Brother Ali but way less talented. The voice isn't something you can take for a whole album either.

Madlib needs to start working with better rappers, but it's been like that forever (bar DOOM).
Whether to Jason of Philaflava or John Podesta, I will speak my fucking perspective openly

you can probably already acquire them on one of his dozens of beattapes out there.

seriously, lets get a leaked song from this so we can stop speculating how disposable this will be and give it a fighting chance.

I thought Phil Da Agony's "Think Green" album was solid. It caught me by surprise. Much better than I thought it would be. Pretty dope imho.

I've always liked Krondon. Ill voice.

I'll check anything Madlib produces. This has a chance to be really dope.

... if Madlib ever stops biting Dilla's style and gets back to fresh percussion styles again ...

But fucking with Strong is like flirting with the devil ... one of the worst wannabe HipHop record labels ever, especially since the late 90's ...

I'm not a big fan of these guys, but I'll give it a chance before I ever
listen to that effeminate faggot BP3 album again.
At least the beats have a chance here.

How the fuck is this negative, fuckin prick? What the fuck is being positive, asshole? Lying to be 'positive' and telling them it's dope cuz that's what they want to hear? Yeah? That seems more negative to me. Being positive is being honest ... especially to people you are supposed to be a friend to ... so fuck you dickrider ...
