Jukebox (stay or go)

Post by Philaflava »

I'm asking for everyone to vote. You don't have to post but help Random and I decide on whether or not we should keep it.

We haven't updated it in awhile and if we decide to keep it we'll probably change things around and keep it as current as possible.

The jukebox was never suppose to replace your internet radio shows, podcasts or however you listen to music online. It was just another option at Philaflava that allowed you to listen to shit while browsing.

Since it's been added (2 1/2 years ago) things have changed. Many people come here via Smartphone and don't have the need/resource to listen to the Jukebox.

So be honest/fair and help us decide whether we remove it all together or keep it.

Thanks in advance

Don't listen because I'm usually checking the site from work, but what's the downside of keeping it?

The only downside is the updating the jukebox. Gathering tracks, labeling, uploading and installing on a regular basis.

Yeah, I can see that being irritating if it isn't being used a lot or if you're updating it on your own. I'm sure someone on the board would be down for doing it though if that's the main issue.

I do that now. It isn't that big of a deal to update it, but if no one is using it then why keep it going.

I think in its current form it has become somewhat obsolete because the mixes that appear on the blogs are probably enough for people to keep up with.

seems like a great device to have here

give it a larger tracklisting and perhaps put it on shuffle

have you thought about selling it as a sponsorship to labels as a place where they can stream an album to potential listeners?

might be able to pocket some cash.

Nobody has budgets. Nobody is spending shit. RE-cess-shon! Not a bad idea, just hard to do that now. Maybe when these change. [/obama]/

But all these suggestions are cool, the question is DO YOU LISTEN or have you LISTENED to it? I'm not trying to better it. I'm trying to figure out if people use it.

There has been tons of westcoast shit on there but on this update not so much.

Nah, I don't use it. My computer speakers are shit so anything I listen to is burned to CD and played on my stereo.
