Had some fun to it, but was still largely painful to sit through.

What kinda setup do you use to record?
As in what kind of mic and mixing program?

The vocals are so rough it makes this hard to listen to.

IthiKKKle, IDAL and/or Thun: Please provide a three-to-four sentence paragraph deconstructing this video and why it is wack.

Male Ass Master, go watch some more BIW porn.

:icedit: - Qualified rappers are also welcome to deconstruct this video and explain why it is wack in a single paragraph.

Made it to about halfway through the second verse. Had to turn it off.

The hook wasn't bad. And the beat was cool. But man, the rapping...not my style.

MB, if I were to buy a CD off of you, would I hear the same shoddy production values? Even if you're giving away songs for free, do you really expect people to want to listen to such poorly put together music? Hell, would YOU listen to it? I doubt it.

It tells us that for all the shit you talk about getting your shit together and whatnot, you really don't give a fuck because you're putting shit out that is barely listenable. Un-mixed, or terribly mixed, not mastered, no refinement to it. If you're putting forth such a lack of effort, why should we be expected to sit through it?

And if this is truly you getting on your grind and putting out your best effort, then it really is time to look for another career. I know this is just some throwaway song, but really dude, quality control.

This isn't as bad as the old stuff.

You actually had like 5 or 6 parts where you were in pocket for 1 or 2 bars.

MB, you need to learn how to mix your music. Do you use any compression? At all?

thanks man! yeah, i thought so too. the horns are odd, but they work somehow. quite a few references are local, i dunno how much y'all can appreciate them, but yeah, it's still Toronto-tinged hiffop!, in my humble opinion. Tried to make it Canadian but not corny.

peace to Conspiracy :ff:  :ignore:

on the new stuff, I sound shiny. this song is at least 3-4 years old.

i still wanted to do an anthem to my city just for fun. will do more, probably. Toronto is the spizzot.

thought about doing a Toronto All-Stars remix. Maybe it'll happen for the summer.

this song is from 2006, it's on "Better Late Than Never Made" (Urbnet Records). I may do new versions of this song/video... but the main point of this was to capture that location where the rubble is, cause it's a famous spot where a humongous fire happened in Toronto a few years ago. It's about to become a Home Depot soon and it's gonna erase like a century of Toronto history. It's just a regular song, I ain't think to remix it, it's on an old CD. Just did a lil tribute to my hometown. This is not my new stuff. Just something I threw out there. I have many old songs I'm gonna release that might get remixed, but I ain't going overboard on them. You'll know the new stuff when you hear it.

Thanks for the career advice, but I'm going to have the entire spectrum of stuff. Raw, direct from my life videos and blog writings, to top shelf high production value songs, shows and videos in 2010. Keepin it real AND surreal, yo.

peace to Employee

that's so weird you say that. I'm not trying to bite Kool Keith, I never was. you guys know i've never been a Kool Keith biter in any way. i simply respect the man to the utmost.

I have a flashy jacket that I wore for the 'P.I.M.P.' performance, that's it.

and I change my exterior all the time. I dress up, dress down, get naked, wear crazy shit... i'm not one-dimensional

and cenzi, i'm sitting on too much old stuff to not put it out. also, these days, people's entire catalogues are available as a Zip file. when people get The Mindbender Collection later this year, and get 9 albums of music from me and hear where I've been sonically the last 15 years... everything will make more sense.

thanks to all who watched.

more is coming

no it won't make more sense....

People would rather hear Kool G Rap's 2010 shit and not that slower stuff he did in 1985. Only die hard fans care. I don't think you have to omany die hard fans yet...

Invest your energy and your resources on new shit.

When's the last time any record label made any noise about their records edited in 1991? Never. Only if they are about to put out a collections CD or something...

If you want to make a career with this shit.. then treat it as such. a business, not a hobby. No one cares about your outtakes, leftovers or such... yet. Put out your BEST track, make a video for THAT one and get GOOD reactions.

thanks for your thoughts, Cenzi. but you know how Grim Reaper of the Gravediggaz had their solo Tommy Boy record from 1989 just get released from the vault of Tom Silverman last week? yeah, sure it's not going to go platinum, but it's good that it's out.

i can't stand when people tell me what to do like only their way will work.

is this going to ruin my year, by putting out old songs from the archives? will a Mindbender Lost Tapes record REALLY deep six my career? people neeed to chill out with the "this is the ONLY way to do things" mentality. there's a million roads to success.

i'm really not like anyone else doing this shit, so I don't know what way will be my way. i have A LOT of thoughts and art to share though, i don't need to be J. Cole and be all minimal and shit.

and you have seen that YOUR way hasn't given shit except lousy sounding demos with typical 80's rap videos, but 30 years late.
