Haven't heard all the cuts yet, but 38 songs is overload. I haven't been too impressed with the leaks other than that song "The Weedman". That chorus is kind of annoying, but the beat sounds like a Rick Rock production and it slaps.

I find this hard to believe, especially it being a double disc.

Considering the fact that you have never in your life seen me and you claim to have me on ignore, you spend an ample amount of time swinging on my sack. Since you like me so much, I'm going to work up a good sweat, put a container underneath my balls, and Fed-Ex my sweat from my balls to you, baby girl. Maybe you can drink it and see what a real man tastes like, you bitch. You are a faggot for real.

Goin back to the music, I listened to the first disc last night and it's ok. It seems like he's trying to go back to some of the mobb sound that made him popular. He is still spittin at a high level and most of the beats bang. I can't even remember all of the tracks because 19 is way too long nowadays. Muthafuckas today got ADHD and shit. Cats can barely listen to 3 songs before they are trying to do 3 other things.

I'm going to try to listen to the second disc today. We shall see what happens.

quotes from this album:

"pelicans copter over our heads like balloon boy"

"got a digital scale application on my iphone"

"wipe your coochie off with a napkin and take a hooker bath"

"back up like a sea crab"

"i like bitches with cellulite, i don't like 'em too lean
i like 'em thick and yolk like UCLA softball team"

"i'll fuck around and put some wheels on your chair"

"i was blankin' so hard, dumped my iphone in the toilet"

"talkin' loud like a big mouth bass"

i'm loving this shit, but was physically exhausted after listening to the whole thing once, it's like 2 and a half hours. might need all summer to really get into it

Every once and a while, I visit the circus. Reminds me the clowns are still sad lumps of life with make up (or, in your case, preposterous street wear Keith Haring would have declared too flamboyant). Then I go back to my life knowing your arms are still too short to box with gimps.

Night Shift is sorta wack. Album will please die-hard 40 water fans. I'm not a fan of the quirky minimalist bay production.
Whether to Jason of Philaflava or John Podesta, I will speak my fucking perspective openly

yea most of the negative reviews is about the production which was mostly done by his 22 year old son.

I personally dont mind the production, it is pretty simple but it sounds crisp, clean and bumps hard in the whip.

Whoa, sounds cool but very long....

Is it a concept album? Like the Night disc is darker than the Day disc, and the general theme is hustling?

It's not a concept album at all. It's just a gang of slaps, 38 to be exact. It has mobb, hyphy, and some jerkin elements to it.

If there is one thing you can say about 40 is that he can still relevant in any year. This is his most street album in a long time since he doesn't have to deal with Warner Bros tor Jive tellin him to make songs in a certain way. "The Ball Street Journal" was his last album and probably the worst one of his career.

I'm liking this album more and more as I listen to it.

i think it leans more on the hyphy side but there are only a couple club/girl-oriented songs this time around

it's pretty street, no overt singles or anything

This song would sound a lot better to me if it didn't have Gucci Mane on it. He is one of the worst rappers in recent memory. When did they let down syndrome niggaz make music?

Overall, this collection of songs is better than I thought it was going to be. The beats bang. They are different than the past production that 40 has rapped on in the past, but he knows how to pick the right slaps.

I don't even know if I can call this a hyphy album outright. It has some elements of it, but hyphy is on life support. The youngsters don't really holler that shit like they were 5 years ago and shit, but 40 knows how to make shit that people can gravitate too that is listenable. This album has mobb, funk, and jerkin elements to it. It's a good mix that appeals to a lot of muthafuckas.
