Not really. I'm a big fan of that album and the Clipse in general, but no way can you have yourself a top 5 album with bad tracks like Dirty Money and Ain't Cha.

Jesus/Allah/Buddha @ some choices in this thread. I felt like I was reading "Which albums came out after 2000". I mean fuck someone said Carter 3.
Resolved Question
Does Biggie Smalls hate HipHop???

I've been wondering what he meant by this.

Naw, he likes hip hop and rap. He was just referring to if he hadn't started rapping he would've been a cop.
So he's cursing it, not that he doesn't like it, just for the sake of it.

If it wasn't for 2 beats I would say Teflon Don would be condsidered. I agree with blastmaster and Pilot Talk II. I also think Hell Hath No Fury should be considered.

My bork pick would be Below The Heavens.

Free Mason/Aston Martin Music/Audio Meth maybe two more but overall hell no. Also do we count MC Hammer & B.M.F. as one or two beats ?

And Blu >Exile.

Still D.R.E. nigguhz.

Pilot Talk II is good but I think I would take Pilot Talk as a better produced album.

Yeah those are the two beats that I am talking about. Everything else on that album is great.

Pilot Talk II is indeed beautifully produced, yes homo.

Is there an instrumental version of Beauty and the Beat? Edan's rap contrivances are tiring.

Jaylib has grown on me - those beats are cold. Tends to be the Madlib side of the production that bumps hardest, to me, though.

What's the point? If duke did, ya'll wouldn't agree. Shit seems counterproductive.

But it's on duke I suppose.
Because it's fun to laugh at backpacking queers.
I never seen a thread like this before that examines other people varied views of Hip Hop, it's been fun

IMO more an example of production and rapping really working exceptionally well together (which is rare in itself). In that genre of stuff the production on Bayani>Below The Heavens, it's just that Geologic is a pretty shitty rapper.

I think that there are a lot of albums that can stand up with 2001's production.
This is why you get called a fag, jus sayin.
I'm well aware. But I also get called that by people who think Kanye, Waka, Based God, Yela, and Gucci are dope.

So honestly, "it's like the pot calling the kettle a faggot."

Shit just don't phase me much cause ya'll suck at listening to rap.
you're confusing 'well produced' with 'albums you like'.
I'm really not. I think that the production on all of those I listed are prime examples of cohesion and really fit with the vibe of each individual album.

The problem is so many people put Dre on a pedestal. People don't even care about the production itself, if his name is mentioned, then no1 has better production.

Closemindedness is sad really.
So lists albums you feel are BETTER produced than this since its release.

Your list should contain albums after this cd was released, not before

The correct answer is....

There is not an album better produced then 2001 since its release

I don't know how anybody can be that happy about an album (Bayani) where every song exists within a range of about 10 BPMs. Individually the songs are all decent if you like that sort of milquetoasty boringly political hip-hop, but as an album the production becomes a giant snoozefest.

You could also be describing 90% of Dre's production with the bolded (hypebole granted to both, of course).

As for everything else, it's off topic, and even if you're agnostic on that style of overtly political subject matter, Geologic is a pretty shitty rapper.

Dre has more stylistic variety than whatshisface though. It's not just a rather consistent tempo, but a style of production that doesn't do enough to distinguish one song from the other.
