Camp Lo thread

Post by Comedy Quaddafi »

This is a compilation of the best Camp Lo songs from 2000 up until now. The songs are mainly from their albums but there's also some more rare stuff on it. There's also other good songs but they weren't as strong as these, I feel, and I wanted to keep it brief and keep a certain vibe so I also tried my best to sequence it sensibly. The songs are properly tagged, no guests and a little more than half of it is produced by Ski.

If you think I missed something feel free to up it so people can put it on their own playlists. I'm looking for two songs called Ebony and Eternity Window - in case anyone have them.

01 The Promo
02 Black Hollywood
03 Touch of Mink
04 Satin Amnesia
05 8 Moons Ago
06 Sweet Claudine
07 Beautiful People
08 Imported Nights
09 Black Connect 3
10 Diamond Crookz
11 Let's Do It Again
12 Double Doors
13 China Soul
14 Bionic
15 Uptown (Remix)
16 Back Uptown

Excellent and great timing because I'm writing a piece about how Curren$y and Fiend are advancing certain aspects of camop-lo's style.

They did some cool video singles that weren't properly released and extremely obscure stuff for bork-producer compilations, it's a shame some of their biggest fans will miss out on it.

yup, imported nights and that eternity window song above are prime examples

what's really shitty is that often these random obscure throw aways are faaaar better than their official hyped releases

DOPE compilation quadaffi. Touch of mink is a very dope song imo. "Ticket for two" is a good song for the ladies. "Trouble man" and "sky ocean" go hard too.

Lame. Don't see why anyone would report it and this is the only place I've shared it.

I'll put it up later with a more incognito filelink. Wanted to replace Sweet Claudine with Eternity Window anyway.

THX 4 that 1 btw, drizzle. I'm dry of material so vol 2 is on you

good choices.

I'd add this one

<object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/VxSRfP02tzc?fs ... ram><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/VxSRfP02tzc?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>

what should I check out by Fiend?

Tennis shoes & tuxedos, or maybe you're thinking of older stuff?

I was torn between 82 Afros, The Promo and Son of A as an intro.

 Im a pretty big Camp Lo fan...I have no idea how I could not have heard this many of their songs. So they were like European release only joints er what?

Good looking out CQ. Cant wait to download once the link is re-upped.

Side Note: Anybody heard about the project they are supposed to be working on with Pete Rock? 80 Blocks From Tiffany's?

props in advance for the re-up man, I'm really interested in this since I haven't checked anything from them besides USN and the miscellaneous tracks from that era, and the recent Curren$y stuff has me really amped for some more Ski music.

Afro: 8 Moons and Beautiful People are from their official albums. The Promo and Double Doors were video singles. The two others are from compilations by European producers. So is Eternity Window which I added in place of Sweet Claudine.

Thanks - didn't have a few of these.

A lot of people think the Camp fell off in recent years, but I vehemently disagree. Nothing touches Uptown, but I think mostly they're just victims of everyone wanting to gauge the rest of their music by how it stacks up to that debut.

2 Dope Boys is a great track you left out.
