OTHER than yes.. I know I have some High and Mighty 12's on some record label I can't even recall (sun moon and star I think it was called?) They were on Rawkus/ Eastern Conference basically. Smut Peddlers was Rawkus/Priority.

The only one I don't have or have never heard is J medrois and Shaw J Period because people with J in their names are assholes. (no basis in this other than J's I have known. All a bunch of dickbags.)
 j/k..

Seriously tho I would like to peep the Shawn J.

I need a 12 list, anyone ? I need to g'head and rope off a Rawkus section in the stacks.. I already have but I need to see what's missing.

i used to hate on Rawkus hard at first because it was always the lame whiteboys who never listened to hiphop acting like they knew more than me because they had a Rawkus shirt..trying to tell me im lame for bumping Raekwon and Nas and need to bump some BumRush Bros & shit...

needless to say Rawkus has a bunch of undeniable classics that will always be the shit to me.

Lol @ wiki. As is well documented, Company Flow jetted from Rawkus before they broke up, so EL-P was never down w/them as a solo artist.

Two things I wish materialized in Rawkus' heyday:

- Rawkus reported on their website back in 98/99 that Mos Def & Kweli heard an El-P beat in the Rawkus office one day (maybe something from Little Johnny), dug it and wanted to jack it for their own use. That would have been weird. In a good way.

- The El-P remix of Last Emp/RZA's He Lives. Probably still in El's vault. Probably a lawsuit from Rawkus waiting in the wings if it ever leaked.

Good looks. I have a bunch of other Shawn J stuff just not this Rawkus record. I have some VHS docs where Shawn's breaking down stuff too.

I was deffly one of those Rawkus shirt wearing white boys but I'll try to steer ya into the good shit and not give a fuck about talking you out of whatever you already know and love.

My faves include SB 1 & 2, Funcrusher, Lyricist Lounge, Reflection Eternal, Home Base.. Let's just say was deffly a label fan.

Appreciated. I'm sure boom bap bork dinosaurs will come out of the woodwork and lurking new jacks will claim they were down after recent downloads. Nevertheless their appeciated and underestimating their core audience on Soundbombing 3 was a huge mistake. I hope one day we see another run like they had.

Anybody got those XXL mag scans of what went down at Rawkus by any chance?

Anyone have a collected file of the songs used for Soundbombing 1 without Evil Dee yelling over them?

The Giancanna stories bootleg is maybe my favorite. Some really fantastic songs on there.
Whether to Jason of Philaflava or John Podesta, I will speak my fucking perspective openly

my favorite has gotta be soundbombing 1. i followed a lot of the early 12"es as they came out so it was cool to get that cd with everything on it and the shit i didn't have. say what you want about the cats that ran rawkus but you can't take anything away from their discography in those first few years.

If you take away Evil Dee from this release it might have been my favorite as well... or at least favorite after Funcrusher Plus

Speaking of Rawkus alumni - someone ripped a short lived stream, from the Duck Down website, of Pharoah's LP. I haven't heard it yet but I'm guessing the quality is poor, but it should make for a nice album sampler.

Not sure what the protocol is for throwing out links like that around here...

I used to get postcards from Rawkus advertising the soon to be released Kool G Rap as well as a Company Flow followup. I think they were still sending me that shit after Co Flow brokeup and El was off starting Def Jux.

I was a Rawkus head from around the time of the second round of 12"s.

I never cared for the Poppa Kool Bear Breez / Rose Family joints, and got hooked with Shabaam Sahdeeq 'Arabian Nights', Sir Menelik 'Physical Jewels', Indelibles 'Fire In Which You Burn', Mos Def 'Universal Magnetic', Reflection Eternal 'Fortified Live', L-Fudge 'What If?', Brick City Kids 'Brick City Kids', Black Attack 'My Crown' - all the stuff that ended up on 'Soundbombing'.

I was also into the stuff they were doing with 'Lyricists Lounge 1' and 'Soundbombing 2' and copped all those singles too - Mos Def, Q-Tip & Tash 'Body Rock' 12", KRS One, Zach De La Rocha & Last Emporer 'CIA' 12", Common '1-9-9-9' 12", the 'Soundbombing 2' 12"s that made up a Subway train and the 12"s between those 2 periods, such as the Medina Green 'Cross Town Beef', Shabaam Sahdeeq '5 Star Generals', Black Star 'Definition', Thirstin Howl III "Brooklyn Hard Rock', High & Mighty 'B-Boy Document 99', DJ Spinna 'Rock'.

I still actively checked for all the Rawkus releases up untill the Mos Def & Pharoahe albums, but by then they were distributing more stuff from off-shoots and the quality was definitely questionable.

the Thirstin Howl joints are some of my favorite ones too.

That discography list says D12 Shit On You / I Remember - Dedication To Whitey Ford (12") was a Rawkus record ? I have that somewhere and call bullshit as to it being on Rawkus? Am I right ?
