this must be one of his every 5 year songs he drops that sounds like vintage jay, everybody gets :ohsh: and drops a lackluster album that only NYC fawns over then we all agree it sucks by next fall.

That line about communism is insane. I heard the song on Hot 97 literally 5 times in a row this morning and couldn't catch the second part, got it now.

This communist talk is so confusing

Beat is very dope and I like the song a lot, but Jay is nowhere near the MC he once was. I fuck with this, though.

:ohsh: Jay-Z finally made a political statement.

Best thing he did since spitting that "Iran-Contra" line on "American Gangster"

BUT WHY HAVE SWIZZ BEATS BACK UP VOCALS :naswtf:

he's too bored to rap with intensity, but at least he's being WITTY.

coulda went more anti-American  but he coulda also said nothing, so thanks for opening pandora's internet with this Open Letter, Shawn.

I am not inferring that Jay has fallen off as much as Prodigy or anything, but even as recently as American Gangsta and BP3 his rhymes were at a much higher level. It's still witty and smart for the most part, but it also is just nowhere near as good as it once was.

When can we stop comparing rappers in their forties to what they were 20 fuckin years ago? Just take it for what it is: a nice couple verses from a guy who is more interested in running a sports agency than he is being a rapper.

I agree with PB. Anything else is just asking for utter disappointment.
