Who had the more disappointing career?
Elton brand or Vince carter?
Well Brand was a #1 overall pick, so out of college probably him...But I'm gonna say Vince because after his 3rd year it seemed he had limitless potential and him vs. Kobe would be a rivalry for the future. I also thought Brand was slightly undersized, and the injuries really fucked him over; he had a damn near MVP year with the Clips...whereas with Vince I attribute his failures to being a lazy, heartless bastard with a low basketball IQ who played soft and was content to shoot 20 ft fadeaways all game long.

Yeah, this. His first three seasons were absolutely insane. Brand has had a good career, but who knows how good he could have been.Philaflava wrote:Brien Taylor.
But for the sake of the thread maybe Brand. He never peaked where as we all knew how great Vince once was. Vince and McGrady share that same blood.

Yeah but Vince actually lead his team in the playoffs. His ceiling was so high it makes him look like a bigger disappointment, but he's taken his team farther than Elton.Gregg Popabitch wrote:How fitting that a bum has to suffer from a bum knee.Escobar305 wrote:Gregg Popabitch wrote:Vince Carter.
Elton Brand has the excuse of two bad injuries late in his career.
Vince's only excuse is that he's a pussy.
Vince didn't have a bum knee that plagued him for a good portion of his career?

That's disappointment.
Vince actually made Toronto a relevant NBA city for a while. He had a better impact in the league.

and I cannot totally blame Brand for only making the playoffs twice. He played for the Bulls when they were led by Rebel Krause and then got traded to the Clips. The fact that he took them on a playoff run at all is a miracle all by itself.
why would you argue with this kid? dude is like 14.Gregg Popabitch wrote:have you really forgotten the year that elton brand took LAC to the 2nd round?Escobar305 wrote:Yeah but Vince actually lead his team in the playoffs. 2 playoff appearances? Try 6.
The playoff teams he was on with the Nets and the Magic were loaded with talent. It's not like he had to carry the team.

Anyone who voted Elton Brand is crazy and/or has never had the misfortune of Vince Carter playing for their favorite team.
Although, I did watch him do a dribble/dance up on Channing Frye with a deadpan thousand yard stare look around the whole three point arc while "Tell Me When to Go" played during a shoot around. Legit ha-ha.
