That KO didn't look too legit. But the look on JMM's face doesn't lead me to believe he was in on "the fix" or whatever you want to call it. I think he took a good right and just decided to lay down and collect his career high payday. Didn't do shit for JMM either really, the whole point of the fight was to get in some rounds with a southpaw to prepare for Pac.

As for that war, I scored it how teddy had it except I would've had the 5th going to Wolak and one of the later round he scored a draw I would've given to Rodriguez. I had Rodriguez winning by a point because of the last 30 seconds of the fight.

I'm going with Khan by decision. I could see Judah by surprise KO as well, Khan is open all day for uppercuts and Judah has a damn good one with some pop on it.

Yeah, that was a solid body shot on the belt. He heard the ref counting and knew what was up. Great performance from Khan, one of my favorites in the sport today and a guy that wants to prove he's the best by challenging the best.

The commentators kept pointing out that Zab was never able to compete against the elite. What they failed to point out is that over the course of his career any time he got in trouble he always resorted to the same bullshit posturing. He did it again, just less theatrics this time - that's the new, humble relgious Judah. Right.

More like, "Say you found God or you won't get your license back."

Like, Zab, is your ego really that precious and delicate that you have to come up with some lame excuse every time you get touched up in the ring?

And if so, then at least come to fight.

he looked like he was in good shape, but he definitely did not come to fight. Last time we see zab on hbo? probably.

Here is some of the trash talk from Tim Coleman(Coleman comes on at 4:38) about Vernon Paris, who fought last night. Coleman was saying Paris got shot over crack, that he was smashing his girl, and a bunch of other shit.

As I was hoping the bad blood was in the ring last night and we got some hard shots mixed with some good boxing skills from both men and I thought it was a entertaining fight.

Tonight on SHO

Abner Mares vs. Joseph Agbeko.

<object width="640" height="390"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/5GONVP2jZww?ve ... ram><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/5GONVP2jZww?ve ... rel=0&hd=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="640" height="390" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>

This should be a really good fight. A very tough match up.

R.A. The Rugged Man recently did a little interview with Mares for his new site. http://ratheruggedman.net/2011/08/abner ... takes-all/

can we go a week in boxing without controversy? i just want to watch a good matchup where the judges or refs don't fuck things up. i can't believe showtime invested all this time in a tournament to have it end like this. espn friday night fights is kicking everyone's ass right now.

I can't believe that ref. That guy should be banned from the sport.

Agbeko got fucked over, that fight was a draw or even a W for Agbeko if any other ref was in there that night.

Good News: http://www.thesweetscience.com/news/art ... ko-rematch
Dear Ms. Jamison:

IBF Championships Chairman Lindsey Tucker and I have reviewed the IBF Optional Bantamweight Championship bout that took place on August 13, 2011 in Las Vegas, NV. between Joseph Agbeko and Abner Mares.

Mr. Tucker and I observed several low blow fouls committed by Abner Mares. While the referee, Russell Mora, issued numerous warnings for low blows during the course of the bout, he neglected to deduct points for these fouls. With 1:03 left in round eleven, Joseph Agbeko was hit with a low blow foul that forced him to the canvas. Mr. Mora determined that the blow landed by Mares was legal and began to count indicating that a knockdown had occurred.

Based upon our review of the bout, it has been determined by the IBF that inappropriate conduct by the referee affected the outcome of the fight.

In accordance with IBF/USBA Rule 3.D., the IBF is ordering a rematch between Joseph Agbeko and Abner Mares for the IBF Bantamweight title which must be held within the next 120 days or by December 14, 2011. Neither boxer can take another fight until the rematch is completed. Negotiations should begin immediately and be concluded by September 15, 2011. In the event that you have not negotiated this bout by September 15, 2011, the IBF will call for a purse bid to be held to determine who will promote the fight.

Daryl J. Peoples, President

what's ironic is that this fight is probably their best option anyways. is there any possible way this was all set up prior to the fight so that the public demand for a rematch would be greater? donaire ain't sticking around in their weight class for too long - he'd knock off the head of the winner in either case. He's got a commitment later on this year so neither one would have been able to fight him this year even if there was no immediate rematch mandate. He'll probably will be gone by the time either is free which won't be for at least another 120 days + whatever time is takes for the winner to recoup so we're probably talking at least 6 months.

Yeah, I doubt Donaire will end up in the ring with either of them - I think that's just something they've been saying to keep a buzz around the division.

But I don't think it's that big of a conspiracy. The ref was paid off - it probably ends there.

Part of the 24/7 most people are focussed on:

Tonight on HBO PPV

FLOYD MAYWEATHER vs VICTOR ORTIZ

SAUL "CANELO" ALVAREZ vs ALFONSO GOMEZ

ERIK MORALES vs PABLO CESAR CANO

Floyd is going to pick Vic apart tonight. I hope Canelo can make a statement tonight against Gomez in what I think could be an exciting fight. Don't know much about Cano as he is a last minute fill in for the injured Matthysse but Morales is a boxing legend and I hope he can find it within himself to give us another great performance like he did in his last fight when he lost a narrow decision to Maidana.
