I've decided I want to get back into baseball. Is MLB.TV any good? I've got the free preview, but was only able to see one game, that 16 inning Jays/Indians match. For some reason that game wasn't in HD on the MLB Extra Innings preview, but it was in HD on MLB.TV. I watched it through my Blu-ray player which is wi-fi. The buffering annoyed me, even though it lasted a second, but it happened every few minutes it seemed. Is that normal? Do I put up with it or just spend the extra money and get the EI package?

MLBtv is amazing. You pay and get the app for free. You can watch online for free. You get every game, DVR, home and away broadcasts.
Its $120. Any fan of baseball needs it. You can stream via PS3 or Xbox too.
I don't ever have buffing issues. Games are in HD. They allow you to view scores, watch multiple games, go to the vault. You can watch any game at any time no matter far into the season you.
IE doesn't carry every game. You can't pause, rewind or save. You can't go back at all to previous games. Plus you get ONE broadcast. If you like to hear the home broadcast you can with MLBtv.

Not to derail the thread anymore, but I didn't know you weren't from the city. I thought you were. I got fam that still hasn't sold their home in the gentrified ass 'Moe. What part of the Bay are you from then?peanut butter wrote:I'm not from SF. But you are emotional. And emotions are like memories. Talk about the pot calling the kettle black, at AT&T Park, you can literally order sushi and a sperm latte. I dig sushi, but that ain't baseball.

Where were your people at?Big Breeze wrote:Not to derail the thread anymore, but I didn't know you weren't from the city. I thought you were. Santos didn't qualify for a save because he didn't pitch for one inning, and the tying run wasn't on deck when he entered the game. If he'd pitched the entire ninth inning he would have gotten the save.Gregg Popabitch wrote:i'm pretty sure saves are accrued based on the fact that when you come in the game:
1. How many runs is your team up.
2. How many outs are remaining in the game.
3. How many runners are on base.
You can get a save with a five run lead if the tying run is on deck when you enter the game (bases loaded). The number of outs you record can be irrelevant as long as you meet the following criteria:
Credit a pitcher with a save when he meets all three of the following conditions:
(1) He is the finishing pitcher in a game won by his club; and
(2) He is not the winning pitcher; and
(3) He qualifies under one of the following conditions:
- (a) He enters the game with a lead of no more than three runs and pitches for at least one inning; or
- (b) He enters the game, regardless of the count, with the potential tying run either on base, or at bat, or on deck (that is, the potential tying run is either already on base or is one of the first two batsmen he faces; or
- (c) He pitches effectively for at least three innings. No more than one save may be credited in each game.
Also, - I'm sure everyone knows this - you can't pitch yourself into a save.

Real shit. Can't believe the A's landed him.Philaflava wrote:Cespedes is the truth
Even though the Giants lost, I felt like it was a pretty encouraging start. Tim was bad, but he was also great, and its safe to assume he'll get it all straightened out. But I liked what I saw from the offense. Pagan made a difference. Posey looked healthy. Panda is good as ever. Melky is God. And for seemingly the first time in forever, I saw that team get hits with runners in scoring position. Not sure how long I'm gonna be able to put up with Huff playing every day though.
On the other hand, Babe Goldschmidt is a minotaur. Unreal power. He's going to be the next Adam Dunn.
Breeze- You're folks are out in the cuts. I used to stay only a few blocks from there.
